Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Under PL guidance only have to isolate for 7 days, more importantly unlike us plebs, anyone they have had contact with does not have to self isolate foe 14 days. The PL make their own rules up and don't have to follow the advice the gov't make us follow.
It’s disgusting

BBC -

'The singular case, from 1,197 players and staff members tested, came from Tottenham.

But because of carefully planned drills and physio sessions being limited to 15-minute windows, it is not thought anyone else will need to isolate.'

Seem to make it up as they go along.
Ah, the old Cummings angle. Would love to see Joe public make that case and be allowed to carry on. It really is a case of come what may, we have an answer

Government website states the following:

If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, OR you have received a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test result, the clear medical advice is to immediately self-isolate at home for at least 7 days from when your symptoms started. Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. You should arrange to have a test to see if you have COVID-19

Following a positive test result, you will receive a request by text, email or phone to log into the NHS Test and Trace service website and provide information about recent close contacts

After 7 days, or longer, if you still have symptoms other than cough or loss of sense of smell/taste, you must continue to self-isolate until you feel better.

You do not need to self-isolate if you only have a cough or loss of sense of smell/taste after 7 days, as these symptoms can last for several weeks after the infection has gone.

If you live with others and you are the first in the household to have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), then you must stay at home for at least 7 days. All other household members who remain well must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the household became ill.

Staying at home for 14 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection that people in your household could pass on to others in the community.

If anyone else in the household starts displaying symptoms, they must stay at home for at least 7 days from when their symptoms appeared, regardless of what day they are on in their original 14-day isolation period.

Look at the facts (from the ONS) and assess where the risks are.

In reply to hateutd. Since when has the Premier League the FA and UEFA been about anything else but money. All the Premier League the FA and UEFA care about is how much money they can make. If it isn't then why are teams like Man Utd who are making losses every year but still don't break any FFP rules is totally beyond me.

Surely if your debt goes up you must be breaking FFP rules. The only reason the likes of Man Utd get away with it is because they are everyone's pal.

Covid-19 largely affects the old and immune compromised and it's transmission is facilitated by indoor settings and the transfer of respiratory droplets so stop worrying about football.

Football without fans is not football... especially in a country with over 30 thousand deaths...fuck f.a and uefa...its all about money
There isn't one world of capitalism, and then world of mutualism operating side by side and you get to choose which one you live in. Some people think there is. They live in churches or communes but it does not work that way.

So, because the players are in an age range where the statistical chances of DEATH are low it's all ok?
What about the statistical probability that individuals suffer serious symptoms as a result of contracting the virus and suffer long term lung damage that are serious enough to require players to retire from professional sporting activities? Are there graphs that show the chances of that?

Or contracting the disease and passing it on to family members due to them mixing with large numbers of people from outside of their household? Or..... ad infinitum

Statistics are only a guide, they don't predict exact values they only give possible outcomes.
Playing Devil's Advocate, would you still be saying it was a great idea if, say, Aguero died? Would you still be looking forward to our Champions League/FA Cup games then?

You MUST know/realise that despite the amount of one-eyed data that is produced on the subject, PROJECT $$$ is SERIOUSLY flawed mate
