In short no it won't. We breached by a mile in 2014 in UEFA's view. That's done and dusted.

Was mainly a late night thought, but if Uefa want to go back 7 years, surely City can too even if just part of a 'you've messed us about in the past, but we're the ones not co operating....'

If the rags secure 4th we'll probably get a more lenient deal, 5th and we're a goner !

With those 2 penalty awards that Moss made the other night it’s clear that the PL and FA are not taking chances. United will be top 4. Is that 12 penalties awarded in 30 games so far? Putting them top of the stats - of course they’ve conceded just one - again putting them top of the stats. Ffs.

This is the reason why I and a lot of supporters will stop watching the game particularly if the ban is upheld against us. It is so obvious the level of cheating to get the global brands into CL places.

How can that shite defence, including big daft clumsy fuckers like Maguire and Jones, only have conceded 1 penalty all season!?…. Staggering

yeah, that was the most re-assuring thing, if Gill knew we still had our ban Moss wouldn't have been that desperate. It's 12 pens this season added to the 11 last season I believe, so 23 in the league and 31 in all comps in the past 2 seasons I think. I posted them up on Friday.

Depends what the reasons for the suspended ban are maybe. If it's classed as "not proven" or even down to the differing accountancy ideas that have been raised here, it gives UEFA some facesaving, that's not the end of the world.

Also, for City to breach again would be so idiotic, the suspension is probably not going to come into force.
I agree. The reasoning behind the decision and how that is explained to the public is crucial. UEFA do need a get out. It's clear that FFP will have to be dramatically changed moving forward so it is unlikely they will pursue this matter any futher. It may be in our long-term interest to throw Ceferin a bone.
But it also vital that City get the opportunity to show their "irrefutable proof" in public so there has to leeway for a strong public statement to be made by the club. City fans cant be kept in the dark. It's not as good as total defeat for UEFA but we may have to live with it.

What the Panel simply won't be saying...

"The Panel finds that the [MCFC] did mislead and conceal critical information in FFP submissions to UEFA between 2012 and 2017 in breach of multiple Articles of the Rules of the CFCB over many years. The Panel finds that Manchester City had no grounds to insinuate that the Investigatory and Adjudicatory Chambers were acting in bad faith. Although this is the second breach of the FFP rules and notwithstanding the concealment and falsified submissions to UEFA over many years, the Panel has decided that the sanctions decided by the Adjudicatory Chamber were disproportionate and that Manchester City should be given a further chance (a third chance) by the imposition of a suspended sentence of a 1 year ban from European competition that it would otherwise be eligible for."

As others have said, the fixation on the word 'suspended' has derailed the thread somewhat, when all we're talking about is the meaning of the original Spanish message being lost in translation.

As PR says above - we won't be getting a suspended sentence if the panel find us guilty of the breaches we're accused of. And even if we did, I doubt the club would be happy to accept it as final, given this still carries the implication of guilt.
