Holiday advice

April mine was cancelled and I did a charge back with my credit card, still waiting, I will be ringing today to force them to refund my cash now as theyve had 8 weeks now.

I did a chargeback and was ignored by the CC company until I downloaded the deadlock letter template from money saving expert.
You send it to the CC company. Basically it says they’ve ignored you so you are asking for a letter of deadlock to forward to the ombudsman. They have to Comply and once the ombudsman gets involved the CC company have to pay the costs of the ombudsman looking in to it.
Within four days the money was refunded to my credit card and I got an unexpected letter of apology and a cheque for £25 as an apology!

So with today's rumours of air bridges to be confirmed tomorrow or Monday.
Who will be booking a holiday?
People are under the illusion that the FCO will be relaxing the no travel anywhere advice.
There has been no mention of it.
If it stays all insurance is invalid.
So no, I won’t be booking anything until the FCO change their position regardless of air bridges.

Relaxation by the Foreign Office of the no travel IS part of the new traffic light system being announced tomorrow, it was mentioned and confirmed.

I think the quote 'What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas' might be rather apt, looking at their current numbers.

Unless trump actually decides to rub his 2 brain cells together, I can't see Europe/UK flying to the US until April - 3 months of Biden with science led anti-Covid measures.
I think you might be right, I'm a member of some Vegas forums and the amount of people who are refusing to wear masks calling it media hysteria is frightening.

We booked for Nerja in September, back in January (seems a lifetime ago now). We will definitely be going, we need the break.

My favourite place . Have you been before ?

We have been going out to Nerja for nigh on 20 years now and we are lucky as Mrs Balls parents have a big share in an apartment over there.
We were due out on the 11th July flying with Jet 2 but we were cancelled as they do not resume until the 15th.
We have weighed it all up and have this morning booked Ryan Air to Malaga for a week on Friday. Obviously we are a little bit at risk here but they are offering free rebooking ( November is another option we have) and fingers crossed we get the government green light this week.
Demand is there and the last thing we wanted to do was to miss out in the clamour to get away once this hopefully becomes official.

Nerja feels like home to us and fingers crossed we will be there next week.

Be interesting to see what bars & restaurants Are open . A lot of the tapas bars have outside seating but I love being inside the busy bar at lunch time we all the locals . Places like La Puntilla & Puguilla will lose its appeal if you can’t prop the bar up .

Should be in Paphos right now!
Had Benidorm weekend cancelled back in March
Lanzarote Xmas and new should be ok

All refunded tbf to Jet2 and the cc company
Just took a punt on a week in Kefalonia at the end of August for a week
Anyone been to Skala?
We went a couple of times around 2009/2010 & probably would have gone again but the prices went crazy so we found somewhere similar in Rhodes at much better value. . Stayed 35 mins walk from the centre in a Hotel called Pelagos Bay or something similar, had it's own private beach across the road, was a nice pretty quiet place and if still there there's a Taverna which is a 'ship' called Captain or similar halfway between our hotel & the village...I'd recommend for the experience although the food was great when we went.

We are looking at doing a day trip to Alhambra as well this time. Have you been, and is it worth it? I love history and am aware Katherine of Aragon had connections to it; just wondering if it's good value.
And have a great holiday ;-)
