That first half Kev played was as good a 45 minutes as I’ve seen in a long time.

He simply needs a run of games after being out for 2 years. He’s not played consistently for a long time and truth is, he’s actually done ok since the restart apart from that error against Chelsea. There’s no one we have who would do any better in that position either.

I thought about this the other day - who was out left back just before 2008? It wasn’t Ball was it? But since then we’ve signed Sylvinho, Bridge, Clichy, Kolarov and Mendy I think (missing any?) and none of them have been anywhere near as good as the Zabaleta or even Walker has at right back.

Garrido and Ball shared duties that season but Garrido was first choice.

I guess my view is more in line with Pep Guardiola’s than yours.

Zinchenko struggles in the air, has no physical presence and is very often caught out of position.

Mendy is no superstar but his physical attributes are useful in a team which isn’t overall powerful.

Comfy especially as they couldn't take the gifted chance.

Only real downside personally was the lack of a third goal blowing 3 different bets but, it's a price I'll gladly pay.

He should be retired, he's done nothing of any note for years and wouldn't last five minutes in a European side he would be sent off every game.
