And yet here, when the government changes it’s mind, the media scream ‘U turn’ and portray it as weakness. Couldn’t agree more about the sh*t show in the USA. Trump in danger of making Johnson look merely mediocre.

dont want it reported in a light hearted manner. I would just like some balance and perspective. they are very keen to point out the negatives but not positives. Bad news sells but in times like these the country needs a balance. Its he same with the economy, the bbc are very quick to talk us down, not so keen to point out the positives.

Your estimate, of course, rests uneasily on the assumption that he won’t be rewarded with a second term. ;-)

You’re right, and a bully loathes any sign of weakness, but I’m not quite convinced that it’s purely a matter of refusing to admit mistakes and saving face. He has fashioned his entire presidency on withdrawing America from its international commitments and rejuvenating the domestic economy; a last hurrah before the inexorable shift in power to Asia. Ever the businessman, the economy is all that has ever mattered to Trump, and I dread to think how many more deaths he’d countenance in the vain hope of saving it as his legacy.
 
Need to get a move on getting a vaccine because the Chinese have another potential virus which has the potential to be a pandemic, flu linked to pigs.
