Because you run into the same issues such as why Cancelo isn’t 100% content with his current game time. Alaba is 28 he’ll be wanting to play every week.Why? Mendy needs competition like any player + Alaba is versatile (can play CB too).
No league cup as well next season.

Difference is Alaba would rotate with Laporte and Mendy so he'd get a lot more games.

Garcia, Fernandinho and Stones if he sorts himself out will be back adequate back up.
Tosin also seems to be getting solid reviews from Blackburn fans.
