Very sad, a genius. The mission's my favourite soundtrack of all time.

Sadly, never won an oscar for this.

I always loved this one too and how it went so well with the torture scene

Used to stay at my great aunt's as a young kid and we'd watched the Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns in the evening. Ennio Morricone's music has been imprinted on my mind over a long time. Utterly great film composer. RIP.

Baffels me how do you make music up to set the tone for a scene. As you said guys 'Genius' RIP.

One thing that set Morricone apart was the sheer variety of his compositions. I love listening to scores by Thomas Newman, for instance, but part of the enjoyment in that is the familiarity you develop with the piece; you sense it's his work and automatically feel comfortable with it. That was much more difficult with Morricone, always different.

Watched Hateful 8 last night and said to the missus about the score.

She just nodded and said...it's alright.

Bloody heathen.
