Just come across this:-

We weren’t taken over by a royal family. We were taken over by the investment company of one member of that royal family.

St Mark’s is not the birthplace of City. Despite some members of St Mark’s, some members of Gorton and some members of Ardwick being involved in the formation of City; City we’re formed as a new club from scratch in 1894.

The picture of the team in black with a white cross pattee is a picture of Gorton AFC from 1884, not St Mark’s in 1880.

On the video it says we don’t know where the club played it’s first game - we do. It was Farmer’s Field next to what is now Wenlock Way, West Gorton if anybody’s interested.
