I doubt it pal. You'll just have to wave your paper mask at a passing ship singing waltzing Matilda in hope they notice you and take you back to Oz.

No chance I'm going mate it's @burnley blue mcfc who says he's going there.
We're not allowed to leave Oz this year.

I think the EHIC card is still valid and covers everything it did do as we are in the transition period. It ceases on 1st January

An EHIC card covers All necessary hospital treatment in an EU country on the same terms as a local.
So if it’s free for them, like the UK, it’s free for you.
If it’s £1000 a day for them , it’s £1000 a day for you.
It does not cover convalescence or repatriation.
So if you got covid 19 in the EU your EHIC card would let you access hospital health care but any necessary convalescence would be entirely at your cost and you would not be allowed to travel for some time until strong enough too.

which is why extra insurance was always needed.

Any holiday booked pre covid before a March with travel insurance is likely to be covered for covid.
All mine were, until cancelled because of travel restrictions.

What happens if you took out a 12 month policy back in early January before COVID was a thing? Has that policy now changed to not cover cancelled flights?

took out a policy yesterday through moneysupermarket - it specifically mentioned COVID - policy will cover treatment & repatriation to U.K but thats about it dosnt cover cancellation if you get it before you go also price has gone up a bit - £45 for 2 weeks for a couple (Europe)
