So it turns out I was wrong about science.

I thought science would lead us through this being well factual, except for it changing as the scientists learn and improve from their original scientific basis.

But now science is just like economics , is just opinions and they don’t agree

herd immunity v no herd immunity

masks don’t help v now they do.

close down schools as it will spread to teachers v no point there is no evidence in the world of it passing to a teacher.

the only thing that will save us is a vaccine v do we really need a vaccine for something which 99.4% of people who have it survive anyway .

If we find no vaccine and it behaves like a flu (every year bad at winter) then life expectancy will fall. We all get old so will be an ever increasing risk to health. Best to eradicate it via vaccine or we all stay in and don’t travel for a month and eradicate earth wide.

Austrailia is in winter and it is spiking there but could be unrelated.

Certainly in trafford the rise is in the 18-23 year old group so low/no fatalities. but how long will it take for them to infect parents/grandparents that will.

which is why they are stamping down on infections to prevent that spread.

Thats science though, its evidence based. only when some solid peer reviewing has gone on will things firm up.

Ibuprofen is a key example, some doctors reported seeing effects. that got picked up and reported as "science" then medical scientists actually tested it out properly and found it has no risk.

Odds of irradiating this is very low, we've had a measles vaccine for 50+ years and thats still about. but its controlled a lot.

we've not irradiated a virus for 45 odd years.

yeah half the world is always in winter and half in summer, half the world are in warm climates half in cold.

you think by now there would be some evidence on how it behaves in the different seasons and climates. It’s very myopic of people to think we have to wait until the UKs own winter to see how it behaves, it’s a big world out there .

at the start of this there were experts reporting facts many BM experts on here , who have strangely disappeared 6million deaths (bookmark it ) a mortality rate of anywhere between 3.5% and 6%.

I just don’t see anymore any reports of evidence it’s all scaremongering.

there should be statistics on recoveries. Comparisons to other fatalities, eg flu . Risk of catching and dying of this and other things.

treatments that are working. Positive stories as well how death rates have reduced due to better treatment now.

not only interviewing those few who have had the worse of this thing but perhaps interviewing those who have it and didn’t even know for perspective

the suicide, domestic violence business insolvencies and unemployment rate to get some horizon watching on the absolute tsunami of economic woe coming our way. Millions who will be unemployed and a bankrupt government not able to pay unemployment benefit.

The authorities should be stamping down on piss takers. People should continue to observe the rules to minimise the risks.

A number of commentators have pointed out on Twitter are pointing out the ONS data that PHE have been exaggerating the number of Covid deaths in recents and confidence in PHE stats has been undermined. That doesn’t change the fact that the virus is very serious and people need to be careful.
