How did GPC get away with it ?

One of the reasons Mancini will always be a legend to me - despite his faults and despite his achievements being eclipsed by Pep - is that he was one of a very select few willing to stand up to the GPC, and to do so publicly. He didn't give a shit about the GPC, was not intimidated by him, and stood against him, toe-to-toe. Hero forever.

He had a major row with the Irish racing millionaires over breeding rights, prompting them to sell their shares, after he took legal action, allowing the Glazers to pounce and force a takeover. The media and gullible Yoonitid fans seem to have given him a very easy ride for his involvement in this sequence of events, which loaded them with debt, yet he still manages to have got away with his actions,I don’t understand why..
Trophies galore - the glint of the silver has blinded many a Rag.

Right. And I loved the way he always referred to him (when he had to) as Mister Ferguson, never Sir Alex. A nice put-down.

Taggart got away with it because he's a selfish, self centred bully who only thought about himself. Fuck the club and the owners he wasn't bothered one iota.
Look at the shit sandwich he left Moyes to try and get a tune out of.

All about him.

Toward the end I think he was dangerous mix of sick of the game and the money some people were earning (players and agents) but also unwilling to give up what he had and still obsessed with his little feuds.

He did nothing of note in the transfer market toward the end of his career - he just couldn't sanction the money that was asked. The net result is that the squad was in massive decline even though he still won titles. Those last two were quite remarkable when you look at the squad and the age of some of the players.

The running down of the squad and unrealistic view of where transfers were going is why it was pretty inevitable that the subsequent managerial regimes ended where they did. The rags basically under value every target and get nowhere untill they are forced to splurge big time to avoid barren transfer windows. Still doing it now.

Any other club would be ashamed of the way they cheated down the years but they wear it as a badge of honour.

Ferguscum had no discernible style of play and no real tactical nous, he just bullied and cheated his way to the top.
I always remember a post match interview where he used the weasel words that although it wasn't his decision to make,he questioned whether a linesman should be allowed to run the line again.
This is a man that was attempting to destroy a young linesmans career on the basis of a offside that he disagreed with,a fuckin scumbag of a human.

I remember a story that was doing the rounds years ago about how he ordered Mark Bosnich off the team bus one night, miles from home.
This was in the days before everybody had mobile phones, but apparently Bosnich got into an argument with the despot over politics and called the Pisscan 'a champagne socialist' to his face. The coach was stopped and Ned Kelly and one other bodyguard unceremoniously dumped Bosnich on the side of some long country lane in the back end of nowhere, leaving him to make his own way home.

Agreed.

But special mention to our current boss for doing this when Barca pissed all over them at Wembley.

In that respect, Roberto is in an exclusive club of one.
