During a time of global recessions caused by COVID-19 and other factors, a club demanding 700m for one player is not a positive look for a club trying to retain its worldwide image after so many on-pitch failures.

I think it will strengthen his will to leave. When Ronaldo wanted to leave real honored his wish since he put so many good moments for them. Messi has been so loyal that it’s beyond embarrassing

Consider the love and respect between City and David Silva, lauded as one of our greatest ever players, who will get a statue outside our stadium, and he was with us for half the time that Messi was with Barca- and this is how they treat him!?! It really is shocking and stupid.

La liga statmentement means Barca are right legally, which means the game is over.
It simply means they are afraid the club will indeed have to negotiate an exit. Release clauses aren't there to be paid at all times. No one paid Ronaldo's €1bn clause, neither will anyone pay €700m for Messi.

Tebas just knows how damaging it is to La Liga for Lionel Messi to exit the league now.

Couldn’t agree more than this mate. Behaving like this will leave a very sour taste for arguably the greatest player ever who had given 20 years service. Just goes to show the importance of the dollar though in that they would rather destroy the above for money. Sad reality of modern day footbal
Completely agree, it was a club I use to admire a lot. When you think of those that have come from them through playing/coaching. People like Cruyff, Guardiola, Messi, Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta decent football people who have an air of humility. Barca’s soul has gone and they’re making themselves to look a real shit show and acting like a not very big club at all. This is one of the instances why the G14 were desperate we lost at the hearing knowing it would knock us back by many years and we could go from strength to strength. We’ve not always won leagues or even trophies every year but we have always improved year on year (signing Wilfred Bony and Scott Sinclair aside) whether it be facilities, transfer strategy, coaching etc
