off topic but Wolves have changed their formation so the guy that destroys us Adama is now playing as a RWB, and neto i think is playing RW so its Neto and Adama vs Mendy on that side hopefully mendy is fit enough to handle that.

Liverpool actually had MORE injuries than us last season. The difference was in the duration/severity of those injuries and who it was that got them.

They had 20 injuries, we had 19.

Theirs totalled 587 days out, ours 749 days missed.

A larger percentage of our injuries affected ‘first choice’ starters. It’s subjective on who is first choice but I have 79% of our days missed due to injury being to first choice picks. That is however including Sane as first 11, which is actually debatable. It’s 50% without him. Liverpool’s percentage is around 55%.

Both of us suffered from injuries. Ours were just more concentrated to big hitters. Salah, Mané, Alisson, Fabinho, Keita, Henderson all got injuries though. Matip also, and he was first choice partner for VVD in the beginning, then Gomez ousted him.

For us, big hitters such as Laporte, Sane, Aguero, Sterling, KDB, Rodri, Ederson, Mendy all had injuries of varying severities.

Very fair and objective post there.

"Don't Panic" The club know what players are coming in but we need to shift some first to free up places in the squad. Too many on here thinking the worse, if we asked fans from the other 19 clubs I am sure that they would rather have our squad rather than theirs. The squad will look even stronger by close of play on 5 October.

Good post. I think it confirms the depth of our injuries to major players in comparison. Key is Laporte, Sane and Mendy - the left side - which left us very unbalanced and vulnerable. This is the direct cause of the current clamour for a left-back when, in fact, the injuries left us very vulnerable down the whole of that side of the pitch with the acting full-backs offered little protection or outlet, in comparative terms.

Since when did Thiago send people into a panic?

He's the same as Gundo but with an even worse injury record, so slow but great when afforded time and space.

Thiago of five or six years ago, maybe, but not this particular model.

12 months ago a workmanlike Liverpool midfielder ran right through him.

Pep has had numerous approaches to link up with him again and has declined each time.

Liverpool will have to sacrifice a runner to accommodate him on a weekly basis, which will certainly make things interesting.

it baffles me that so many on here think gundogan is wank but thiago is world class.

I wish people would stop chasing off the ITK's. Apart from the woman fighting these threads get really boring without them
They are not ITK , as proved many times, tolmie is so he is interesting , the others are not here because they are chancers who post any of obvious stuff copied from twitter

Just to mention Real Madrid, where we kept them at arms length for most of the game, Benzema busted through Laporte & failed to score, a situation you would hardly ever see, with the 'old' Laporte or Benzema, who would usually score.
We were playing Real Madrid, as you said kept them quiet, if you think Benzema and Hazard are

People also forget he only got into the team late on due to an injury to Pavard which meant Kimmich moving to full back

Exactly what I said last night on here apart used rodri as a example, they lose a presser instantly if he plays , he’s passing in the middle is no good if it’s short passes to Henderson , Henderson couldn’t trap a bag of cement

ANYTHING on an incoming? Seville fans are scared about losing Kounde but are adamant his clause is €90m, not €75m as reported
