VAR - 2020/21

FIFA, not UEFA, I think.
By worse, is this just the handball law in action, or something about VAR itself?
It's the handball law. It's a mess. Plus PGMOL have been told to use VAR properly which is why this season the English refs are going to look at the monitor.

It's grossly unfair, though. Defenders have been trained to hoof the ball out of harm's way; attackers have never had to do that in the area. But now they can do a sneaky little flickety-flick. I wonder who the first defender would be to try and flick ball onto an attackers arm, and accidentally flick it onto his own. Bet it's Benjy Mendy!

Deliberate handball missed by the on field ref in the lead up to the goal which does not result in an immediate goalscoring chance = not disallowed. Non deliberate ball to hand which results in immediate chance and goal = disallowed. So an offside in the lead up to the goal at any stage will lead to it being disallowed but not a deliberate handball unless it leads to an immediate chance and a goal. Yet another anomaly of this shite system.

You can maybe forgive the tight offsides. You can’t forgive them not getting the mane decision tonight right or the Jota handball. Utter disgrace
