TV Fixtures - 2020/21

more they’d want to televise it I’d have thought, empty grounds are so passé...
Ah, ok, you’re talking about which ‘regular picks’ the tv companies make, understood.
I was just thinking about whether the other games from each round of matches will also be shown, if there are crowds as some games now.

Dont know why people are lapping up the 4K or 2k fans bone that the govt has thrown out there ... not happening ... at least not till the new year. So don’t get your hopes up on that.

Plus for tv picks, already decided that all games till the new year round of games (first weekend of Jan) would be broadcast and that PPV has been thrown out ... it’s just a matter of deciding who plays when now with games to be spread wide out every weekend and mid week given they need to find 10 slots and obviously the tv companies don’t want to show 4 or 5 games at the same time and compete for audience with each other so they’d be well spread out like we saw earlier in the season.

So that’s the delay ...

Premier League giants in bitter row with Sky, BT and Amazon over Christmas TV fixtures

Confirmation of the December TV games is expected later this week but a number of clubs are fuming that they face the prospect of playing three times in six or seven days.

The December TV fixture list announcement has been delayed as Premier League clubs are locked in crisis talks with broadcasters.

The TV giants were hoping to announce next month's games on Tuesday but clubs have been contesting the pile-up of fixtures, which has caused an untimely delay.

According to The Mirror, confirmation is expected later this week but a number of clubs are fuming that they face the prospect of playing three games within seven days.

Some could even play twice in the space of 72 hours, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp among the high-profile figures to already publicly slam this season's gruelling schedule.

Sky Sports are pencilled in for the pick of the Boxing Day games, while Amazon and BT Sport have December 28th and New Year's Day respectively.

But all games are being shown live, meaning the TV giants are trying to move dates to squeeze them all in, and that has left some of the bigger clubs furious.

The top-flight's giants, for example, have regularly voiced concern over playing in Europe on Wednesday night and then having to play in the Saturday lunchtime clash.

Talks are ongoing, although broadcasters are believed to be annoyed at the public criticism aimed at them by the likes of Klopp.

Meh happens to us every year.

I'm sure someone can find the figures from last season, didn't we have more games & travelling in the shortest timespan than anyone else?

Yeah, I mean, we’ve been playing 3 games every 7 days all autumn anyway haven’t we?
I agree it’s not ideal, but it’s no different, surely.

So with all that in mind, have a wild guess at who will be playing twice in 48 hours then.....

Manchester United play Boxing Day at 12:30. Wolves play 27th at 19:15.

The two sides meet on the 29th.

In the shortest turnaround of the entire campaign, it's completely unfair that a club has a 30-hour advantage over another. It's also no surprise to me that the big beneficiaries last season were Liverpool and it's Manchester United this time.

Second year running wolves had the shortest turn around
