United (A) Post Match Thread

Does anyone still rate Rodri?

One of our biggest flaws IMO. Far from a Fernandinho replacement.

We've got better footballers at centre half and defensively and positionally he's all over the place too. Can't stand watching him play to be honest, ponderous and always a step behind.

Couple that with losing David and our midfield is a mess at the moment.
You’re very right. How can we spend £60m on a player who weakens the squad?

Spot on mate. Our two most creative players were on the bench. It’s really bizarre what goes on in Peps brain sometimes. We’re looking more and more like a mourinho team. Hey perhaps he’s going for the clean sheet trophy this year.
Maybe he's got our entire defence in his Fantasy team?

we have to be different and hard to beat in respecting united

so what if we did not win ? we did not lose and its going to take time for the whole time to settle down because we are missing a striker. jesus is not a striker and can not play back to goal or smell a chance like a striker does. we need a top draw striker in jan even if aguero becomes fit and ready to play every week. there is a very big hole up front and we are not giving KDB something to hit

jesus is a problem for pep and city in the way pep setups up the team. we are asking for jesus to be a lone striker and lead the line but jesus is far to lazy and turns off ? yes good with the ball at his feet and can be a really problem to defenders if he gets on a run from 30 yards out

we should be straight in for a top draw striker come midnight 31st of december ? go for the best even if its coasting us big money it will be worth every penny to this team and KDB

Cancello defended well but offered nothing going forward
Mahrez was invisible and should have been subbed at HT

The midfield duo of Fern and Rodri also offered no attacking threat and that's what really fucked us

As for the rags they were fortunate not to be two down at HT and they were never scoring tonight

Obviously not great. Although the double pivot has helped make our defence solid AF again, it's obviously blunted our ability - maybe even willingness - to mount incisive, fast (counter-) attacks. I imagine the front 4/5 have been worried over the last 18 months that any broken-up attack or lost challenge could end with the conceding of a goal. And with good reason. It's evident that confidence at the back is booming again (Stones and Dias look absolutely immense). If we're going to be saddled with a double pivot, hopefully in (not too much) time, that confidence will allow the front 4 to start expressing themselves properly. That's the positive spin anyway. Anyway, FFS Meh-rez.

Mahrez was absolute wank

Sterling not far behind and Jesus not far behind him

thank fuck we seem to have got our defensive side right because this season could have been a disaster so far if we hadn’t
