In the 1st 10 mins his movement was as good as anything you will see from any player. Then he started coming short for the ball and that is just not his game.

I thought it was a mixed bag from him. He wasn’t bad by any means, but after that 1st 10 mins, I thought he was going to be on fire.

Agreed mixed bag on a whole but to your point he made a lot of really good runs where he was completely ignored, probably why he started coming short to try and get involved more.

I want to add though and this is a general point, many won't notice in the grand scheme of things but those back post runs he makes better than anyone in world football imo forced those mistakes that led to 2 of the goals tonight. Without anyone there to give walker and mahrez the option they would have to slow down or try and cut back in a more crowded area.

It's why even in games where he's not as involved, his mere presence and movement creates options and chaos around the box for the opposition and why he is so valuable to the team and by pep. In a side where you have so many technical players who mostly want the ball to feet, a player like him that offers what he does is invaluable.

Some bad takes in here. He’s up and down because he’s playing more aggressively - running at his man towards goal instead of running down blind alleys or constantly pulling back. He’s been really good these past few weeks but those that want to will only see the times he loses the ball which he will do more playing the way he has recently. High risk high reward.

Seriously unlucky tonight. Defender took a guaranteed goal off him, worldie save from their keeper took a brilliant assist for Kev away, not to mention how close he came with the backheel and curler from 25 yards. Had a great game.

Still not firing on all cylinders but you have to realise every time he gets the ball there are two or three players around him, teams know he can be devastating an dhe creates room for team mates , his attitude is spot on he never gives up and always making runs off the ball. Ive been critical of him because he can do better but still makes a decent cotribution to the team effort.

He does it when he's bottled a chance again.
I'd love to see a more aggressive body language instead to push himself. When I see him smile the missed chance away I know he won't produce anything in that match.
