Couldn't stand them. And I was probably the age group they wanted.
I listened to Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Elvis when I was very young and then progressed to The Specials, Jam etc.
The bit in-between was nothing I want to remember.
But is it sad he has passed away? Yes, of course.

They weren't my cup of tea, but I remember them being absolutely everywhere in the papers, on tv and on the radio for those few years in the mid-70s. Along with the hot summers of 75 & 76, they're probably one of my abiding memories of that era.
