Born in Kosovo, family moved to Switzerland when he was 1 or 2 years old. As such did all junior football in Switzerland, and progressed to national team. Kosovo weren't recognised internationally when he made his Swiss debut. Similar story with Xhaka, who's brother did play for Kosovo.
