Agreed, but I think you do Messi a great disservice, the gap isn’t great at all mate.

Confort zone player, could be up there with maradona if he had proved it elsewhere and let's be honest maradona did it in tougher playing conditions while charlied up and under death threats in proper cauldrons of stadia, not the tourist trip Camp Nou is nowadays

ronaldo as good as he is ,is a fucking show pony with his exaggerated stepovers and his made up trade mark goal celebration,

ronaldo is a tremendous goal scorer ,up there in that department with messi i will give you that, but the rest messi pisses all over him, by a long distance.

Tap in and free kick specialist is ronaldo, messi is an all round attacker.

Niether are up there with Diego

Let's be honest here, if he wasn't a former rag we'd (most) would be happy to see him play for us because he's still top drawer. I'm not arsed either way as it happens. Would upset rags though big time and I'm all for upsetting those scumpts as often as possible.

I do base my no on his rag past and comments he has made.

However I weigh up the piss boiling and despair it would bring them if he wore blue and so could accept his arrival

We aren't getting Ronaldo so please can we pretend that this thread never existed?

The fact that some of you are fantasising about him scoring and celebrating at the swamp, doing his cringe little celebration and kissing our badge is fucking unnerving.

Either the sun has really gotten to some of you or you're simply off your fucking heads.

And no, he's not fit to lace Messi's boots. "He's played in different leagues" is the exact kind of argument someone comes out with when they haven't watched much of either outside of highlights.

Putting aside the Man U narrative, I've heard via my sister-in-law in Madrid that he is actually perceived as a really nice guy over there. Off the pitch he is apparently a lot more down to earth and does a lot of charity stuff, auctioning some of his individual trophies for causes, gives blood etc.

One thing I think we can agree on is that he is ultra professional. To be 36 and still competing at the highest level says alot about his commitment to the game and love of winning football matches.
