Yes apologies all if taken the wrong way, I meant the ones that have tagged on to our glory with no connection to us what so ever. They are the kind of fans who will be devastated we didn’t get messi and think football is just like fifa.
You mean 3 to 100 year old kids & adults all around the world wearing replica City kits and watching Kevin, Ruben, Ederson etc. on tv or computer, playing football the likes of which they have never seen before, tagging on our glory ?.
I am not on a rant, honestly, just trying to explain the perspective of an overseas or non Manchester dwelling fan.
I tagged onto our glory in 1965/66, I live "overseas", I'm a bigger fan now than ever, because City are part of my life, why I don't know, and have been for 56 years approx., and barring serious unforseen circumstances will be for the rest of my years. I'm not a better fan than anyone else, nor worse, imo, I wasn't born a fan, I chose to be one, like thousands, maybe millions around the world who are fans for numerous reasons, not all glory seekers. Some fall by the wayside & for some it's a lifetime attachment. You mention "no connection to us", do you follow any other sports, golf, boxing, F1, baseball, swimming, horse racing etc, would you refrain from being a fan of Lewis Hamilton, Tiger Woods, Andy Murray, the All Blacks rugby team etc. because you have "no connection" to them or would you choose to follow them because you enjoyed watching them. I get that supporting your local team is a personal connection, but do you regularly go to the pub or socialise with Khaldoon and Pep and our team of mainly overseas stars. I know you didn't mean offence and none taken but if people were only fans of their local club, sport wouldn't work. Being a fan of City never prevented me from supporting my local town team, nearest Senior league team or my national team or other sports, local and international and supporting them never lessened my love for City. You don't have to live near The Etihad to see a blue moon.

Generalisation yes. Not sure how inaccurate it is. I got slaughtered for saying something similar a few months ago. Then a short time after we were confronted by the threatened Super League. The flip flopping from some was hilarious. I know there are genuine fans from abroad that understand the game and the history of it. For every one of them there’s a fan who thinks Manchester United vs Crystal Palace is dull and would rather see them play Real Madrid week in week out.

The market is there for these types of fans from abroad. Those in power nearly took our clubs from us a few short months ago. The niceties soon went out of the window then.
There were "genuine fans" and local fans who supported the SL, at least for a while, read their posts here, and on other media. Football is played in nearly every country in the world, "genuine fans from abroad" are only a flight away from Manchester and understanding the game and history is not a test they have to pass to follow City, they just need to enjoy good football. Is it really necessary that "fans from abroad", of what is a multi national club in most respects except location, are spoken of as if they are from the far side of the blue moon, and need to be categorised as "these types of fans". I have no wish to slaughter you, as I recall there was some mild dissent regarding your post, no slaughtering, not all fans from abroad are unreal murderous types.
