Southampton (H) | Post Match Thread

and Tuchel beat him 3 times and lifted the one he really wanted, whilst he pandered to Raz again. Still, Mr Whippy bailed him out for 15 games till he fiddled about with the team and we lost the Derby, lost the FA Cup and lost the CL by not sticking with what worked.
Tuchel beat Pep’s 2nd team twice and once in a final.

You can’t count the games where we rested a load.

Once you go on the pitch you face an opponent, today we faced one that was totally deserving of more. A point is a result for us, my gripe is why Sterling didn’t see that Phil was the option to score, he knows he was close to offside so rule yourself out. A tap in for the winner was taken away by our own player.

Did anyone actually listen to or read Pep's comments?

He literally said the team were exhausted. He said this was going to be a very difficult game because of the high intensity of both Marsch and Hassenhuttl.

He knew this was going to happen, which is why he appealed to the crowd.

None of this is conjecture, the man literally spelled it out but people would rather talk about imagined insults instead of what he actually said.

And then after the game, after he said the team were exhausted, you're questioning why the team looked tired! You couldn't make it up FFS.
What is your solution Dom? We need solutions

Jesus christ you have completely fucking lost it pal.

Attempting to remove all credit from Guardiola for last season and put it on Gubdogan bailing him out?

What a fucking clown.

Same fucking group with the addition of Grealish is it not?

Lol
The context has changed entirely from last season though. Gundogan had a freak season which clearly isn't going to be repeated and both United and Chelsea have brought in proven match winners. Liverpool already look re-energized with Van Dijk back. We're also going to packed away grounds now which is problematic for us as we rely heavily on rhythm. We effectively played 38 home games last year.

Or, put simply, do you see finishing above all three of the aforementioned teams come May? I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't see it.

All our main rivals are stronger this year than they were last season. Away teams will have their fans in the ground. And they know even better what to expect from this system. If you think the weird situation last season has any bearing on this one then crack on
