Upon skimming, basically states boosters amongst the general population aren't necessary.
Which is what is happening really - they are going as priority only to the most vulnerable and as of now no suggestion of anyone under 50 at any point. And only after 6 months beyond the second dose. Which for some people will mean 2022. In my case probably not before November. Which will be 9 months after my first jab.

The figures show very clearly that whilst serious illness and deaths are well down the vast majority of them still occur to people over 50.

In England last Friday of the 92 hospital deaths 89 were over 40 and nearly all of those over 50, And 83 of them over 60,

TODAY'S UPDATE

THE PREDICTED CASES IN TOTAL AND FOR ALL THE REGIONS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS YESTERDAY.

THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL SO MAY BE A GLITCH YET TO BE CORRECTED. IF IT IS I WILL UPDATE LATER.

AND ADD THE USUAL REGIONAL SUMMARY WHICH IS POINTLESS NOW AS EVERY REGION IS WHAT IT WAS YESTERDAY EXACTLY

Predicted cases are (just as they were yesterday)

DOWN FROM 46, 154 (Saturday) TO 44, 205 Yesterday and TODAY) - a FALL of 1949 - After A RISE SATURDAY of 265 FOLLOWING SMALL FALLS OF 16, 283 and 379 over the 3 days before.

It WAS 46, 613 last Monday - a FALL week to week of 2408.

Ongoing symptomatic cases DO however get updated and also FALL for thirteenth day running.

FROM 669, 039 to 661, 763 - A fall of 7276 - after falls of 10, 561, 1392, 5951,4129, 4595. 4710, 6108, 9353in previous days.

IT WAS 700, 377 last Monday. A weekly fall of 31, 338 - down from a week to week fall of 36K yesterday.

There is always a lag to the change in ongoing cases after a rise or fall in daily case numbers as ongoing cases persist and are not just counted on the day of first report.

Right on cue, niece we went to theatre with yesterday tests positive today.

If we'd followed the rest of the developed world, she'd have been vaccinated already, as would the rest of her school.

Thread from Prof. of paediatric infectious diseases follows on why those of us with kids should support their vaccination.

Hopefully, she'll be alright and fingers crossed you dodge the bullet and don't catch it.

I had dinner with some friends a few weeks ago who tested positive the next day, I and my wife never caught it.

ZOE APP DATA

TODAY

GREATER MANCHESTER:-

Rochdale stays the new leader - and its numbers rose by the most of anyone today with most others falling. Rochdale UP on 15, 103 FROM 12, 854

Stockport is now second and again down but also again only by a little and still well into the upper watch zone.On 12, 118 FROM 12, 764

EVERYONE ELSE IN THE LOWER WATCH ZONE AND WELL BELOW THE ABOVE TWO

Bury is third and also UP slightly on 7330 FROM 7214.

Manchester is fourth but DOWN on 7206 FROM 8533

Trafford is fifth and UP on 6900 FROM 6686

Tameside in sixth place but DOWN big on 6131 FROM 8036 - though these numbers are as usual with Zoe for this borough hard to trust given the real numbers from Tamesde daily.

Bolton jumps UP big unexpectedly into seventh on 6188 FROM 3488

Oldham equally unexpectedly drops a lot into eighth on the day and DOWN on 4881 FROM 10, 195

Both these big changes look a bit suspicious.

Wigan falls to ninth DOWN steadily as in real case data now on 4864 FROM 6856

BUT THE NEW BEST IN GM AFTER WEEKS OF DAILY FALLS IN THE REAL DATA TOO :-

Salford DOWN on 3391 FROM 3890

REST OF NORTH WEST

St Helens is well DOWN on 29, 185 FROM 34, 550 but still the highest in the NW.

Liverpool is UP and at one of its highest in a while above all of GM on 21, 601 FROM 19, 532

Sefton a little DOWN on 18, 681 FROM 19, 697

So Merseyside not GM is the real problem in the North West as you can see according to Zoe. Explaining why the GM split of NW numbers is so good

Even Warrington is now over all of GM though a little DOWN on 16, 261 FROM 17, 443 and West Lancashire (in land between Southport and Wigan) is on 11, 294

The Wyre coast (Fleetwood) is way DOWN though on 6768

LAKE DISTRICT NORTH UP ON 26, 514 AND LANCASTER AND MORECAMBE -DOWN A BIT ON 17, 887

ONLY ST HELENS IS HIGHER THAN THE LAKE DISTRICT

BUT THE OTHER AREA OF CONCERN IS:-

Cheshire East has followed Stockport again but DOWN a little more today though still JUST in the higher watch zone on 10, 966 FROM 12, 198,

However, Chester and Cheshire West is UP again on 18, 231 FROM 14, 962 and above all of GM - indeed double or treble most of it.
