ZOE APP DATA

TODAY

GREATER MANCHESTER:-

To nobody's shock Stockport back up into top spot on 11, 190 FROM 10, 807 - but this is the lowest high score in a while in GM. So maybe now SK is rising again on Zoe it will start to fall for real as it has been falling for days here as its cases went up!

Bury is now second not far behind and UP on 10, 558 FROM 7763.

EVERYONE ELSE STILL IN THE LOWER WATCH ZONE

Manchester is third UP big on 9460 FROM 6079

Rochdale fourth but DOWN big on 8337 FROM 16, 410

Tameside are fifth - almost identical score but way DOWN - on 8334 FROM 12, 207 - as usual these numbers are hard to trust

Trafford is sixth DOWN on 6448 FROM 9201

Wigan seventh - DOWN on 5611 FROM 5992

Oldham is eighth also DOWN on 5371 FROM 6353

Bolton is DOWN too now in ninth after edging up in recent days on 4496 FROM 7306

BUT BEST IN GM AFTER WEEKS OF DAILY FALLS IN THE REAL DATA TOO :-

Salford - DOWN on 3282 FROM 3931

REST OF NORTH WEST

St Helens is UP on 26, 057 FROM 23, 129 but NOT now THE highest in the NW.

Liverpool is UP too and also well above all of GM on 20, 974 FROM 19, 593

Sefton a little DOWN on 13, 041 FROM 14, 163 - but also still above all of GM

So Merseyside not GM is still the problem in the North West according to Zoe.

Even Warrington is now over all of GM but DOWN on 14, 048

LAKE DISTRICT NORTH UP ON 27, 331 IS NOW THE HIGHEST IN THE NORTH WEST JUST AHEAD OF ST HELENS AND LANCASTER AND MORECAMBE UP ON 20, 762 FROM 18, 581

The BBC by the way finally noticed the Lake District/Lancaster issues and reported on them

BUT THE OTHER AREA OF CONCERN (sorry Andyhinch):-

Cheshire East which is really very surprisingly still above Stockport BUT HAS FALLEN TODAY to only just over its neighbour to the north.

DOWN to 12, 203 FROM 19, 953 - ony just over Stockport which it often tracks given the border.

Very unusual for Cheshire East to be still just above all GM boroughs - BUT no longer Chester and Cheshire West which went UP on 18, 124 FROM 14, 905

ENGLAND REGIONS

AND

NORTH WEST UP BY 363 TO 4444 V 3368 - UP 1076 IN WEEK

NW AND YORKSHIRE NOW UP OVER 1000 WK TO WK

GM AS A PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST CASES

TODAY 35,1% UP FROM 32.8% YESTERDAY - SIGNIFICANT RISE ON YESTERDAY

HOWEVER ALSO WELL UP FROM 31.7% LAST WEEK

NOT A GREAT DAY IN NW OR GM THOUGH WORSE IN NW THAN GM STILL

GREATER MANCHESTER SCOREBOARD

TOTAL CASES 1561 - UP 222 FROM YESTERDAY.

NORTH WEST UP BY 363 TO 4444 - A BIT OVER PAR FOR GM WHICH IS NOT GOOD NEWS WITH A RISE.

VERSUS LAST WEEK GM WAS THEN 1069 - SO UP 492.

NORTH WEST ROSE BY 1076 WEEK TO WEEK FROM 3368.

THIS IS A SLIGHTLY BETTER SHARE OF THE RISE IN GM BUT STILL A TAD ABOVE EXPECTATION

STOCKPORT 258 - UP 30 on day & UP 106 wk to wk. Yet again a worse day than yesterday and the worst in months here and fifth time on the run and sixth in the week more cases than Manchester to top the tree - another unwanted record. Pop Score up 88 today. Most in GM in over 2 months. LOSING 7 more points to Trafford who were another doing badly - to increase their lead as lowest in GM across the pandemic to 62 . Sadly no sign of a turnaround here. And the 13 K club beckons for Stockport tomorrow and no contest this time with Trafford as to who gets there first. Though still likely only 24 hours behind one another. POP SCORE 12, 970

WIGAN 208 - UP 61 on day & UP 89 wk to wk. N0t a great day here either - over 200 for first time in a while and big weekly rise. Pop score up 63 today. At best two days away from the 15 K club here.-POP SCORE 14, 928

MANCHESTER 197 - UP 29 on day & UP 15 wk to wk. Rising here week to week now too. But just avoided going over 200 . Manchester Pop Score up 36 - still best in GM today. POP SCORE 15, 795

TRAFFORD 193 - UP 47 on day & UP 98 Wk to wk - Pop Score up by 81 points today. Big jumps here but still just good enough to increase overall Pop Score across the pandemic from Stockport by 7 to 62. POP SCORE OF 12, 908

TAMESIDE 185 - UP 25 on day & UP 81 wk to wk - Another bad day here but still better than Stockport but identical to Trafford. Pop Score up 81.POP SCORE 14, 292

BOLTON 130 - UP 8 on day & UP 26 wk to wk - Bolton Pop Score up 46. Bolton's numbers now rising too. POP SCORE 15, 069

SALFORD 116 - DOWN 11 on day & UP 33 wk to wk. Still bucking trends here in the borough Zoe has best in GM right now. Certainly well below all the other big boroughs. Pop Score up 45. POP SCORE 15, 583

OLDHAM 106 - UP 24 on day & UP 12 Wk to Wk. Pop Score up 45 and now 136 ahead of Manchester for highest overall GM pop score . POP SCORE 15, 931

ROCHDALE 92 - UP 20 on day & UP 23 wk to wk. Pop Score up 41 . POP SCORE 15, 313

BURY 76 - DOWN 11 on day & UP 9 wk to wk. Only other day to day faller with Salford. Pop score here up 40 POP SCORE 14, 734

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Bury 515, Rochdale 546, Oldham 657, Bolton 719, Salford 774, Trafford 962, Tameside 1016, Wigan 1045, Manchester 1202, Stockport 1330

At the right end of the table Bury and Rochdale clear. But big rises in many areas today.

At the wrong end of the table Stockport rose yet again today by its highest weekly rise - outdoing itself day by day - which took it well beyond the worst numbers ever and ahead of Manchester by 128 - even though Manchester was up too.

Tameside and Wigan had bad enough days to go back over 1000 and Trafford too had a big rise and came close.

Not going well in GM numbers wise.

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

STOCKPORT 452 // 356 // UP 96 WAS 369 (UP 83 )

Everybody up today some by a lot.

Tameside had a bad day and Stockport was even worse and Stockport its highest Pop Score ever.

Trafford also up over 400 and Wigan back over 300. BUt a long way back from the 3 worst in GM.

Salford has been by far the best performer over the past month but like almost everyone in GM are now rising week to week.

But Manchester is down on both week to week and month to month so easily the best still in GM.

Odd as it seems that the worst vaccinated is now the best borough and the best vaccinated is now the worst.

BUT that is because the vaccinations are not really a factor when most of the cases are coming from school age children who have not been vaccinated.

It is about 40 - 50% of the cases.

Which, I would guess, makes virus control even more difficult.

The NHS is in a mess. Councils too. In fact, all public services are. What a shitshow.
Yes it does. Absolutely no social distancing in waiting rooms as it's impossible given the numbers attending. You can try to sift out those with ?Covid symptoms but as everyone knows there are a lot of people who are asymptomatic. As I said, near impossible situation.

November 2020 was when he made a similar prediction to the one he's making now about life returning to normal the following spring. As I said he failed to mention last time that before normal service resumed there would be circa 100k additional deaths and the new normal would be 37k daily cases and 186 deaths.
What’s not “resumed”?

For me
Going out to concerts, theatres and cinemas
Travel
Shipping without a mask
Eating out
Going into Manchester on public transport

double jabbed but still not risking it

That’s your choice though. If you wanted to do those things, there is nothing stopping you. Which is why life has returned to normal in this country. For now at least.

I don’t think he was predicting his the virus would evolve, more that we would be able to live our lives as normal. He clearly never said no one would be dying of it, pretty sure no expert has ever predicted that as I imagine people will be doing forever more, just like they do from all the other things out there.

All down to interpretation I guess as to what living a normal life is.

Agreed, he was clearly saying that our immunity ( natural and vaccine ) is changing the symptoms to more cold like symptoms, by spring the vast majority of the population, by hook or by crook, will fall into that category.

The trick is going to be to get the media to explain it properly! for those unvaccinated and havn't had it, they are at the exact same level of risk as before.
