Best speech in a film

Was looking for the Jeff Daniels monologue about America, and it’s embedded in here. Was going to go find a stand alone version, but I saw the Will Smith one for the first time and…well, you’ll know…

It’s from a TV show, which is all the more amazing, so maybe it doesn’t “qualify,” but if you have even an ounce of humanity, as a man, it gets you in the soft spot.

Even the Robin Williams - Matt Damon speech feels like father and son…and then there’s the whole “Oh Captain, My Captain” from Dead Poets, which is like a silent speech, given by the boys to their “father.”

Fathers and sons. What the fuck. Someone bring me the tissues.

Had a brilliant father and have a brilliant son. Thank goodness it only skipped one generation!
