Just received an email saying it's being introduced. It's hard enough getting my ticket on my phone, let alone nhs app also

Dear Supporter,

Following an update to Premier League matchday protocols earlier this month, COVID-19 spot checks have now been introduced at every stadium across the league.

Manchester City started its process of spot checks at home to Burnley on Saturday 16th October for seasonal members and supporters who had purchased match tickets in the Legends hospitality suite.

At Manchester City v Crystal Palace on Saturday 30th October and at all subsequent Premier League home matches, COVID-19 spot checks will operate stadium wide.

This means you may be asked to present evidence of your vaccination status, or evidence of a negative COVID-19 test, prior to your entry to the Etihad Stadium, if you are over 18 and not exempt.

Are you match ready?

Please ensure that you have a valid NHS COVID Pass on your mobile device and be ready to present this if you are asked to do so by the COVID-19 spot check team that will be located around the perimeter of the stadium on matchday. Information about how to download your NHS COVID Pass can be found here. Alternatively, you can request a printed COVID Pass letter from the NHS by telephoning 119 or by visiting the NHS website here.

If you are travelling from outside of England, you can provide proof of vaccination that is available to you from your local health authority.

You can also take a COVID-19 test within 48 hours of your visit to the Etihad Stadium, register it with the NHS and present proof of your negative result. Tests can be ordered for free here.

Please remember that you must not attend a match if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or if you are at risk of passing on COVID-19. The UK Government’s current stay at home guidance is available here.

Whilst we strongly encourage supporters to adhere to the Premier League’s updated matchday protocols and the Club’s Supporter Code of Conduct, you will not be declined entry if you are unable to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test at this time.

We will continue to work closely with the Premier League over the coming weeks and will provide you with more information relating to compulsory COVID-19 certificates, should they be introduced later this season.

At least its spot checks rather than checking everyone. Still don't see the point of any of it if they wont refuse you entry anyway

At Leicester last month, they were checking everyone even though it said spot checks. Away fans anyway

Let’s hope they check the players as well then..
