ENGLAND HOSPITAL VENTILATOR NUMBERS

YESTERDAY / TODAY

776 / 803 - RISE OF 27

LAST WEEK NUMBERS OVER WEEKEND WERE

703 / 733 - ALSO A RISE OF 30

The week to week rise today is UP 70

Last week the same number was a rise of 76.

REGIONAL CHANGES YESTERDAY / TODAY & WEEK TO WEEK UP/DOWN

LONDON 156 / 161 (UP 5) OVER WK UP 1

MIDLANDS 163 / 165 (UP 2 ) OVER WK UP 26

NE & YORKS 145 / 150 (UP 5) OVER WK UP 17

AND

NORTH WEST 99 / 110 (UP 11) OVER WK UP 19

NW easily had the worst day here with some worrying rises in ventilator numbers.

Though still easiky the lowest of the four big regions and they are all up - Midlands and NE & Yorkshire by a lot also.

SMALLER REGIONS:-

EAST 84 - 85 (UP 1) OVER WK UP 2

SOUTH EAST 72 - 72 (FLAT) OVER WK UP 5

SOUTH WEST 58 - 60 (UP 2) OVER WK LEVEL

As you can see the smaller southern regions are doing better than they were

UK HOSPITAL NUMBERS

DAILY CHANGE

HEADLINE: LOTS OF RISES AND NEARLY 8800 NOW IN HOSPITAL AND HEADING TOWARDS 1000 AGAIN ON VENTILATORS

PATIENTS

ENGLAND 6883 - UP 82

N IRELAND 358 - UP 10

SCOTLAND 917 - UP 15

WALES 632 - UP 47

TOTAL: 8790 (UP 154) EVERY COUNTRY UP TODAY

VENTILATORS

ENGLAND 803 - UP 27

N IRELAND 23 - DOWN 1

SCOTLAND 59 - UP 2

WALES 56 - DOWN 3

TOTAL: 941 (UP 25) Mostly in England

ENGLAND REGIONS TODAY V LAST WEEK

EAST UP 76 TO 3967 V 4330 - DOWN 363 IN WEEK - more modest drop here

LONDON UP 107 TO 3225 V 3317 - DOWN 92 IN WEEK

SOUTH EAST DOWN 777 TO 5481 V 6498 - DOWN 1017 STILL THE HIGHEST REGION ABOVE THE NORTH WEST BUT A HUGE DROP TO ITS LOWEST NUMBER IN TWO WEEKS

SOUTH WEST DOWN 1286 TO 3577 V 5619 - DOWN 2042 IN WEEK - A HUGE RECORD FALL IN THIS SOUTHERN REGION TO TAKE IT BELOW NORTH WEST TODAY

THE BIGGEST CHUNK OF THE HUGE DROP IN CASES OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS HAS COME FROM THESE PEAKING REGIONS NOW DROPPING VEERY RAPIDLY.

WHICH SUGGESTS THE WEEK TO WEEK FALLS ARE GOING TO SLOW OR STOP QUITE SOON UNFORTUNATELY

EAST MIDLANDS UP 25 TO 2922 V 2783 - UP 139 IN WEEK

WEST MIDLANDS DOWN 427 TO 3038 V 3551 - DOWN 513 IN WEEK

NORTH EAST UP 420 TO 1850 V 2014 - DOWN 164 IN WEEK

YORKSHIRE UP 278 TO 3182 V 3450 - DOWN 268 IN WEEK

AND

NORTH WEST UP 26 TO 3905 V 4482 - DOWN 577 IN WEEK

AS YOU SEE THE NORTHERN REGIONS ARE ACTUALLY ALL UP ON THE DAY TODAY AND DOWN WEEK TO WEEK MORE MODESTLY - SUPPORTING THE FACT IT IS THE SOUTHERN REGIONS LOSING THEIR RECENT HUGE NUMBERS THAT HAS CREATED THIS BIG DROP OVER RECENT DAYS

GREATER MANCHESTER 1351 - A RISE OF 3 WHEN NORTH WEST WAS UP JUST 26 - WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY TOO SMALL TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THOUGH WHAT DIFFERENCE IT MAKES IS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!

PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST TOTAL:- 34.6%

YESTERDAY WAS 34.8% so as you see little difference

LAST WEEK GM 1484 - SO A WEEKLY FALL OF 133 OF THE 577 WEEK TO WEEK IN NW - UNDER PAR - WHICH IS NOT GOOD WITH A FALL

GM PERCENTAGE OF NW TOTAL OF 4482 :- WAS 33.1% LAST WEEK SO TODAY IS A SMALL INCREASE ON THAT BUT STILL A VERY GOOD SPLIT OF THE REGION

AN OK DAY AGAIN FOR BOTH GM AND THE NW REALLY

Notes:

The Stockport mambo goes on - bad day follows a better day - But Trafford still getting better every day and so still gained a big 19 points back off Stockport and decreased its lead as the lowest across the pandemic to now just 321. It wll still beat Stockport into the 16K club later this week. But the comeback is on.

Rochdale became the fourth GM borough to join the 17K club today. At current rates most will be there in a few weeks,

Oldham still both the highest score on Zoe and the highest Pop Score across the pandemic - and now just 310 ahead of second best Salford.

Again the two with the HIGHEST cases across the pandemic have the two lowest case numbers today.

And the borough with the LOWEST cases across the pandemic has the most again.

Not a coincidence probably.

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Oldham 738, Bury 800, Salford 814, Bolton 845, Rochdale 1046, Tameside 1066, Wigan 1277, Trafford 1303, Stockport 1533, Manchester 1669

More changes as almost everyone fell - even Stockport. Not that it helped them! Very close now for lowest score between Oldham, Bury, Salford and Bolton lost round on Salford. These four are clear of the rest.

Trafford gained good ground on Stockport despite both falling. Now a whopping 230 below it. Manchester's lead over Stockport fell a lot too as they dropped much more week to week and Manchester's lead now just 136 (down 58 today). At this rate Stockport will be top of the tree again soon.

Though doing better than was just as Zoe showed today Stockport rising it is finding it much harder than Trafford did to reverse its fortunes very far or consistently.

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

BOROUGH // POP SCORE TODAY // POP SCORE LAST WEEK // UP OR DOWN BY LAST 7 DAYS

Also WAS 4 weeks ago (up/down in past month)

BOLTON 293 // 299 // DOWN 6 WAS 252 (UP 41)

MANCHESTER 301 // 313 //DOWN 12 WAS 209 (UP 92)

SALFORD 309 // 378 // DOWN 69 WAS 302 (UP 7)

OLDHAM 311 // 330 // DOWN 19 WAS 303 (UP 8)

WIGAN 386 // 413 // DOWN 27 WAS 346 (UP 40)

BURY 419 // 378 // UP 41 WAS 254 (UP 165)

ROCHDALE 468 // 461 // UP 7 WAS 223 (UP 245)

TAMESIDE 469 // 446 / UP 23 WAS 482 (DOWN 13)

STOCKPORT 521 // 548 // DOWN 27 WAS 504 (UP 17)

TRAFFORD 549 // 621 // DOWN 72 WAS 451 (UP 98)

MOST PLACES FELL TODAY AND BUT TAMESIDE AND ROCHDALE JOIN BURY IN NOW GOING UP WEEK TO WEEK

Rochdale has easily the worst increase month to month but Bury is climbing.

Trafford now only 28 ahead of Stockport. Would not put much money on Stockport not being top in a few days. But all the gaps are narrowing.

Bolton still top - and well below the 300 barrier again now. But Manchester had a good fall and nearly joined it there today. And Salford is on track to get there too after its good numbers lately.

The top to bottom number is down to 256. It was over 600 when Trafford first went stratospheric followed by Stockport.

We really do need to stop this mass testing of asymptomatic people, as highlighted by Sir Andrew Pollard earlier today. This is why people on here (not you) shouldn’t be comparing us to other countries in Europe, or anywhere else for that matter, when discussing positive tests (which aren’t cases).
