Trippier is their equivalent of us buying Wayne Bridge
They’re linked to Ramsey too - Barry?
Itll continue. The question is can they stay up. If they can, they will have a summer to get them to 10th.

What they may not realise is that when we were taken over we were hovering around 8th and it still took 4 seasons to get our first title, with the FA Cup already bagged. Looking back that’s a rapid route to success. They’re already years behind where we started off. And the league is now more difficult.

We pretty much bought two teams to win the league but had the likes Adeybayor still on the pay roll playing elsewhere at the time.
If they go down it will take them 3 maybe 4 teams.to make top 4 by which time they will be loaning out / paying 50% salaries for many many players signed on 3 years plus contracts

Hardly comparable given that CFG are trying to build a global brand using the city name and colours whereas it seems their owners are looking to just buy a bunch of clubs with Newcastle being no more special than any of the others. To depict it as their owners having more funds to buy bigger clubs is nonsensical.

To get to 8th to 5th won’t cost that much but we know when Newcastle go for a player that club will ask for 30% more than the going rate so just to get to 8th to 5th could cost them between 500m to a billion!

To get into 4th another 500m to a billion.

That’s if every goes to plan just look at the scum 1.4b spent no trophies in 4 years and not looking to get top four where they’ll lose around 50m

If you can bear to even listen to a bit of it, that Geordie prick basically saying only Newcastle's spending can stop us now. Such a fucking hypocrite who went on and on and on about our owners and our spending and how everything we won was hollow. Now he wants people to accept his opinion that the league needs Newcastle to spend in order to challenge City...like we've got no other challengers!

All the others on the panel were trying to make decent points about United's spending and Chelsea's spending and how much of an influence Pep is but he barely even let them finish.

Feels like two things at work, finding a way to make Newcastle the saviours of football and not a team everyone hates now coz of the money and b find a way to still hate city even tho he’s swimming in the same oil money now. My man is not ready to support the most hated team in the league

They seem to be going for the right players. There's an opportunity to climb the table next season with a few solid acquisitions. Teams seem to yo-yo up and down the league without being able to get over the line and into the CL. If they can set a five year plan then they'll be fine, if they try to do things in a hurry they will suffer major consequences. Stay up. Top 10. Top 6. Top 4. Title. That's how they need to look to do things. But because this season is vital they might have to buy senior players on big money that then harms their ability to progress in future seasons.

I don't like the whingeing barcodes, but I'm up for another club splashing the cash and tearing up the rag/dipper love in.

Ill support them competing with the dinosaur clubs in the long run, but I do think them getting relegated immediately after the takeover would be funny. also. Win win.
