Brentford terrorised them down there the same day we beat Chelsea away
True but Brentford had the home crowd, decent form, still riding on the euphoria of coming up and the advantage of them being something of an unknown entity then. None of those will be applicable tomorrow. Praying they get the job done despite that but not expecting it. Brentford and Arsenal have the potential to basically end their season but for the champions league within a week. Please!

Read this on RAWK a minute ago:

'I actually had a lot of respect for the old City. Decent local fanbase, proper ground (Maine Road), strong away support, mutual hatred of United. All gone now, I have more respect for United than the desperate club that City has now become.'

Translation:

'I liked it when City knew their place, their throats beneath ours and United's foot. I don't like that they're now better than us'.

Ask one of these fucking cretinous pricks what happened to all those that made up the decent support when we were shit and watch the sheer confusion on their face when they have to try and claim 34k city fans following their team in league 1 decided to ditch their club the second winning trophies, every fans dream, became a very real possibility to try and make their moronic ramblings make some form of sense.

They hate us because we're making their greatest ever side completely irrelevant and it's fucking glorious. The entire country owes City a huge thanks when Liverpool finally settle back down for their next 30 years of winning fuck all.

The thing is, I don't even hate Liverpool like a lot of you guys here do. I like watching them play too. But I totally understand why you hate them and I think if I was a rival of theirs they'd get on my tits too. Their elitist condescending attitude towards 'little and undeserving City who we liked more when they weren't a threat' is a very ugly character trait and they'd be better people if they eradicated it. United fans do it too, they started hating Spurs more as Spurs started finishing above them. Before that they didn't see them as a threat so didn't mind them too much. They call other clubs like Everton small clubs too. Yeah Everton aren't as big a club as Liverpool, but so what? They're still a respected and long-standing club who have played a big part in English football. And so were City before the takeover. Just because a club isn't winning stuff doesn't mean they're useless. What Pool and United and Arsenal fans don't get is that clubs who win fuck all are the VAST MAJORITY and without these clubs there would be no leagues or tournaments to compete in anyway.

Just sheer big club elitism that the clubs in my country are guilty of too, and I don't wanna associate myself with that shite. I know if other clubs win something (that aren't elitist clubs like Liverpool or United or Chelsea or Arsenal etc) at the expense of City, you guys will take the attitude ' you beat us fair and square and we weren't good enough this time, but we have won plenty already, so enjoy your turn'. You wouldn't begrudge a team you have no hatred of winning something. I get the feeling United and Liverpool fans would be annoyed if a relatively inoffensive club like Watford or Bournemouth won the FA Cup.

You might be the first football fan I've ever come across that isn't a Liverpool fan, that doesn't despise Liverpool.

the thing with LFC fans is they don’t just want to be better than you they need you to feel inferior to them in every way. That’s why most have picked them & that’s why they can’t figure out why there is a gap & they are in our shadows, we don’t need them to know, in fact it’s best they don’t know. Let them think like those up the road they are special, created like the Big Bang with star dust. They couldn’t be just a club from a town like many that maybe got lucky with investment at the right time, had a bit of success & then like others had shit owners & success slowed down.

the only thing that makes them stand out is the shame, they got every club banned from Europe & trouble & death follows them & not many clubs will feel inferior to that.

Cunts!

I dunno, I know they're something of a bizarre cult but I have met some of their fans and they were pleasant and friendly. But i know you can't go by that. I mean I wouldn't care if they never won anything ever again, but I wouldn't say I hate them. I rate a lot of their players and view them as easily the second best team in the league. But I also think they'll decline much more when Klopp goes than City will when Pep goes.

I just find them less offensive than United and Chelsea. I like their generally socialist ideals, although the irony is in football terms they are far from socialist, they are bullies. But I like how they claim to be egalitarians in everyday life, I can get behind that political view. Compare that to the EDL loving right-wing Tory Chelsea slime and I have far more in common with Liverpool politically than Chelsea. Also, as someone whose area was decimated by the Tories in the 80s and 90s, I sympathise with how Liverpool is looked down on by vermin like Johnson etc. Yes they're weirdos when it comes to football but they're preferable to cunts like Chelsea and Millwall, Heysel aside. I am not English though, although I am British, so never really cared one way or the other about them other than what I am about to say in the next paragraph...

I think Gerrard is a complete tool of a guy and he put me right off them for many years, as did their scary devotion to him, which is as obsessive as United and Ronaldo. He was at his best as an attacking midfielder or number 10, never a central midfielder in a million years but he was deluded enough to think he was. I laughed a lot when he slipped.
