Jim Beglin commenting "Emptyhad" on Live TV | City lodge complaint (pg 38)

Clubs inflate the crowd figure by using tickets sold as the attendance and city do the same

look at the attendances at Spurs for recent games and it will show how many really empty seats they have in the new bigger ground despite the “waiting lists “ for season tickets that teams quote. It holds 60k but 40 to 45k for some recent games but this has never been reported by pundits etc

there was empty seats all over the place at arsenal for the sunderland cup game as well at our game on New Year’s Day Again not reported

villa have not sold out all there games this season despite having big “waiting lists “ for season tickets

A bigger ground needs lots of hardcore fans prepared to pay and attend every home game to fill the extra seats not just the odd big game.

let’s see how Everton do in 4 or 5 years in their new ground

once these new fans at the bigger grounds realise the costs of going all the home games in addition to the away trips they soon drop off making it hard for teams to keep filling new bigger stadiums hence some empty seats

unfortunately as a club we are always highlighted in the media as not filling the ground when we have a big loyal fan base that has supported the club for years in all divisions

we also have have fans prepared to take the mickey out of ourselves so we highlight the issue rather than try to cover it up as some teams do

enjoy the quality of football and success we have had in recent years and remember that most of the negative comments we get are from armchair fans at a few clubs who never go to a game anyway so dont know what they talking about

genuine fans at other clubs know we have a big loyal fan base for both home and away games

as such don’t worry about the empty seats etc but enjoy the success of the team and enjoy your own match day out as often as you can afford to as that is what the game is about

Funnily enough out of all the commentators out there who gleefully knock us I don't recall Beglin ever really having anything too outlandish or derogatory to say about us.
Which makes his comments all the stranger.

Like a herd he is just following the rest of the vermin

The club has made an official complaint, we just want to be treated with respect, the lies are bad enough but this commentary is from the premier league.

Clubs only sell X% of seats as Season Tickets, so they have game day tickets, tickets for away fans, and are able to accommodate Season Ticket holders for Cup games.

I could see where ACTUAL attendance might be more important than tickets sold in the days of cash admission at the gate, but in the current “electronic tickets/electronic payments” era, it would make sense to go off tickets sold.

Tbh, I’ve no idea why anyone from any other club is arsed.

Oh wait, yes I have…it’s all they have left in an era of consistent record breaking, trophy winning, finest football ever seen at the Etihad!!!

“Hey, we can’t beat ‘em, so let’s try to wind them up for having empty seats!!”

Big fucking deal!!!

I’d gladly trade a few Level 1 open seats for a Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League or especially a Champions League!

Jealousy rears it’s ugly head in many ways. Emptyhad is one of the most childish and easily refuted, but why bother? The person has already shown you their soft green underbelly!
