I realise stats aren't the be all and end all, but for a player who many say he flatters to deceive it's useful to see just how productive he had been.

On whoscored, in his first three seasons at United, he was the third, ninth, and eleventh best player in the Premier League. When you look at the other players in the list, those stats are clearly picking up on something.

It was under Mourinho, someone who has the strength of will to get players working in a system, that he played his best football for United. Could Pep do something similar?

The worry for me is that at 29, have those injuries in the last two seasons just been unlucky, and his drop in form due to the stop/starts they caused, and Ole's lack of a plan, or are they part of a decline?
Where was he rated in season 4 and 5?

Pretty sure he drops of a cliff in those, seasons. Maybe it's a blip, and there is still a player in there.
For a "free" transfer there are still risks to City if it goes tits up.
I'll leave the club experts to decide if he could be asset to the team. For me, I feel he is past his best.

He lives at home with his mum, wife and kids.

He doesn't drink, devout Muslim, you will rarely see him in the headlines outside of his own Insta stuff.

Aside from his questionable fashion sense and hairstyles, he doesn't fuck about.

He wants to win and is prepared to accept less money to come here.

That tells me it is about football.

I think you know he’s coming mate and after thinking about it this morning I’ll back pep to get his France performances to city! On a free at decent wages he deserves the chance to prove himself if he wants it.

Nice fantasy (and I'm not being facetious).
The only thing not certain is De Jong. It's pretty much nailed on the both Haaland & Pogba are leaving their respective clubs, & both have been linked with City. Haaland with a £65m buy out clause & Pogba on a free.

De Jong becomes an option to consider if as some reports suggest that Bernardo & Gundog want to leave. If 24 year old FDJ is being quoted at £59m & many fans rate him that highly, then surely we'd be interested in a player we've previously looked at.

My focus is on finally replacing Aguero & not going through a season with only Rodri as our only specialist senior CDM mate.

Then smell the coffee.

He may not join but you can also smell the smoke and there's no smoke...
Let me rephrase, then: I don't want to see it. The thought of him attempting a Hollywood pass from a precarious position, fucking it up, then jogging back to his deeper midfield place as we get hit with yet another counter is already giving me trauma and we've not even got an original Gaughan tweet on the issue yet.

Pogba’s idea of putting a shift in is to shake the hands of the opposition before the game without needing a breather half way.

It’s a no from me.

He got Mourinho sacked through his lack of application and toxicity
And Moureen was sacked from his other clubs for?????

Also, where have your read/watched/heard this? I've never come across any reports of Pogba getting Moureen the sack. Moureen needs no help to achieve that feat as he's proved at almost every club who've employed him...
