James Bond Films. Are They All That?

Timothy Dalton ones are brilliant. Only person before Craig to play Bond how the books describe him
Yes, a bit like Jeremy Brett did with Sherlock Holmes, Dalton took to studying the original Fleming stories to try to capture what the author intended. It's just a pity he was probably too young when first approached for Live and Let Die at mid-twenties and possibly ended up too old for Living Daylights at 40. Needed to come in around the Moonraker period and we could have avoided all that early 80s crap from Moore and Connery. Or perhaps it needed that crap to make the writers accept Dalton's method, who knows.

I watched the latest MI film a few months ago and I swear Tom Cruise has morphed himself into James Bond, He could've played Bond but would've needed a bucket to stand on.
