Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Will be interesting to see how the dippers have financed this spending. Their financial reports would suggest such spending is not possible and I can only imagine that they are selling their womens team and possibly some interest free loans.

It baffles me how anyone who’s watched him regularly can say they can’t see it. He’s 21, had a great season in Spain, has a brilliant touch and close control. He’s got a decent turn of pace and good weight of pass. Yes his finishing last year was terrible but he scored some great goals in Spain.

Whether he goes on to fulfill his potential or not remains to be seen but he’s certainly got the natural ability to become a top winger.

Tottenham think they can get him in January according to their sources, that tells me that Savinho would still like the move.

It’s been widely reported they have 500m to spend this season due to lack of spending last two seasons.

The same must be true for us as well. We've spent more than them in summer 2023 and January 2025, but nobody has sold as much talent as us in recent years until Chelsea this year. We must be sitting on a massive war chest.

And then in the next two years they'll not be able to spend because of the spending theyve done this season.

Which is bollocks as you can only lose £105m over three years and their accounts wouldn’t allow for that, even allowing for amortisation. And don’t throw in what they sold Nunez for since, when he was sold, they would have to settle that figure in the accounts. Hence, they might have sold him for £50m or whatever whereas in reality they still owe about £35m to settle up.
