Why are people such a@@@holes about you parking outside their house?

We are having work done which means I cannot use the drive or the space directly outside my house so I am parking a few houses down in various locations, depending on what is free.

I've had a teenager come out twice and ask me to move.
I've had a middle aged woman tell me to move because she likes to park outside her house (not on her drive).

Last night I was blocked in by whoever lives in the house I parked outside. I was so tempted to knock on at daft o'clock and ask them to move.

It's not your land!

Nobody has the right to park outside their house on the public highway. Even if you live in a residents' permit area, you can park within the permit area assuming there is a space - not necessarily outside your house.
I deal with this stuff all the time. Unfortunately, the biggest problem in Britain right now is sense of privilege. It is a cancer that has swept the country and causes huge problems literally everywhere you care to look.

Families with 4 cars…..

Are the parking restrictions in place on Sunday for MCWFC v Liverpool?
According to Google

Yes, strict parking restrictions apply to all matchdays at the Etihad Campus, including women’s team games, with a restricted zone in operation from midday to 11 pm daily. Residents-only parking zones apply, and official on-site parking must be pre-booked on a match-by-match basis

You can park on Belle Vue street, 10/15 minutes walk away

We only have one car parked in the driveway and space outside our house for at least one car. I don’t give a fuck who parks there as long as they don’t abuse the usage.

Some neighbours of ours had a curb dropped and made their front garden into a driveway. The cars only just fit.

They sent everyone a letter telling, not asking, not to park opposite their house so that they have the room to manoeuvre.

It went down like a sack of shit, that letter. They ended up accosting people as they parked. Entitled twats.

One of many if not the most things that neighbours fall out about, sad fuckers need to get a life.

Like most streets our close is rammed with cars at evening time. Nearly every household has 2 or more cars with insufficient space for them .
Our daughter’s boyfriend complains he has to park miles away when he visits , told him he doesn’t live here so why complain .
What does annoy me is the selfish arses who park their car in the turning circle at the end of the close , makes me wish I still had my old battered MK 2 Land Rover to give it a nudge .

It's always nice to have a chat with your neighbour about parking. It could be more inconvenient for them than you. I was attending the funeral of an ex apprentice of mine. There was only one parking spot on a road of terraced houses nearby the church. I knocked on the door and asked would it be OK to park there for a hour or so. The lady said it wouldn't be a problem. When I returned I tapped on the door and thanked her. Simple really and it only takes a minute. The problem with today thanks to Maggie who made this country rude and aggressive.

Cheeky look on Autotrader and you can get a used Freelander for £500. Proper search and I'm you'll spend less. Have at it.

I remind my wife of this when she gets annoyed at someone parking outside ours. We don’t own the road and the public has as much legal right to park there as we do, unfortunately.
