So i was watching some highlights last night of us beating the rags and i realised the 6-3 at home really annoyed me as we took our foot of the gas and could easily gone for 10 in that game which i realise is first world problems but it got me thinking what game has annoyed you the most and for what reason, could be a win, loss or a draw.

2021 Champions League final

Not only would it have been our first CL win, with Agüero getting a winners’ medal… but it would have also been a treble as we’d won the PL and EFL Cup.

We finished 19 points ahead of Chelsea in the league and I didn’t even rate their team at all. They were a fairly average football team.

The team selection, pretty much every player completely bottled it, we created next to nothing in 90 minutes, Agüero didn’t get proper minutes when we needed a goal… I fell out with City for a while after that, only actually felt better about it when we came back against Villa on the final day of the following season.

One that springs to mind,
When we could of won the league in record time v the rags, 2 nil up at half time and sterling had missed a few good chances too.
All for them to come back and beat us at home 2-3 .
Grrrrrrrr

Yeah, this one for me!

It was a once in a lifetime chance, To win the league vs them lot, at home and in record breaking fashion.

We won’t ever get that chance again, I was absolutely gutted that night, still annoyed about it now.

Champions league final vs Chelsea is close but we got another chance and won it, so it just became part of the story.

Yes and the similar 2-3 at maine road

And I wasn't too please with the luton 0-1 either

But only the hammering at edgeley did bring me to tears

Fuck me, where do you start?

Here are a few, though there are a lot more.

QPR and Jamie Pollock.

Notts County a couple of times.

Luton.

Stoke 5-2.

Wigan and Palace at Wembley.

Scoring four in the FMC final and still not winning v Chelsea.

The cl final in Porto.

City fans getting on Richard Edghill’s back (v Coventry…?)

shatwell allowing that offside goal by the rat.

Alf grey.

It is hard to choose just the one.

The 1981 FA Cup final. Tommy Hutchinson own goal.

More recently the 2021 CL final, and the Spuds travesty CL 2019, but that was a VAR decision against us, as is generally the way...

And most weeks something annoys me - usually reffing decisions against us, or the 500k sideways passes we make!!

Most upset was possibly after the Maine Rd derby in 93. We were winning 2-0 (Quinn), and they came back and beat us 3-2. We’d battered them and threw it away. Great atmosphere. Pandemonium on the Kippax when Quinn’s 2nd went in. Ended up about 20 yards away from where I was initially stood before the goal went in. Despair at the end.

Sorry but I can't ever see a win being one that's annoyed me the most but if it HAD to be it would be the 10-1 v Huddersfield. The reason being that I was a season ticket holder back then but gave my ticket away on the day as they were short of drivers at work and I was on double time and a quarter for the day.

We hadn't been doing that well, they were on near the bottom so I envisaged a 0-0 or scruffy 1-0 win.

Best part was in the works canteen when the scores came on. They showed all the results on the TV screen and the lads were taking the piss, assuming it was a mistype and we'd lost 0-1. It was priceless when the announcer said "Manchester City 10, Hudderfield 1" Rag next to me said "fuck offffff...." and right on cue the announcer said, "I'll just repeat that....

Priceless piece of history but gutted that I missed it, especially as I could have been there. Only ever seen the 10 minute Sunday highlights on Granada.

Most annoying defeat for me was going out to Wigan in the cup AGAIN after they had beaten us in the FAC final and they were now playing in a lower division.

League Cup Final v Wolves

Sunderland at home 2-2 FA Cup

Last 2 FA Cup Finals

Capitulation to Monaco and Madrid

But nothing will ever beat Porto ECL Final v Chelsea

Recognising being well beaten and the consequential disappointment is one thing but annoyance is a harder one to take when you know if the team had prepared better or the “right” team had played or the players had not performed or done something ridiculous or turned up pissed lol is a lot harder to take
Plus referees decisions

There have been a number in the CL that were annoying/frustrating. 1-0 loss in Madrid under Pellegrini where we didn't muster a shot on target - we were one goal from the fucking final and limped out.

Their late come back to win 3-1 was another which just left me floored. The Chelsea final was odd because as soon as I saw the lineup I felt like we wouldn't do it and whilst it was gutting, it wasn't hugely surprising for me - especially when De Bruyne went off injured.
