Which City game has annoyed you the most?

been far too many for me that I like. But these are some of the highlights

Chelsea UCL Final
the 2nd United FA Cup Final
Both FA CUp Finals vs Palace/Wigan
Losing 3-2 to United when 2-0 and we'd of won the league
UCL Semi FInal to Spurs
Various UCL games vs Real Madrid including that SEMI final.
Not beating Middlesborough (Fowler Penalty Miss) for Europe

I'm glad someone is on the same page as me about Palace. I got pelters earlier this year when I posted how much I dislike them ( its not Dips Arse Rags Madrid Munich level tbf) but they are a very annoying team like flies you can't ever swat away and they have an irritating habit of getting the better of us when they really shouldn't- and I'm not even thinking of thar corrupt fa Cup final last season.

However caveat, I do like that they have a habit of upsetting the Dippers - prime exhibit being 3-3 in 2014.... :-)
Agreed - they seem to be one of those teams we struggle against more than we really should.

Middlesbrough is another one that seemed to have a bit of a thing over us as well back in the day, although that particular Palace match when Nixon was sent off still annoys me more than it rationally should.

Palace’s results against the dippers are a redeeming feature, as you say, although I couldn’t go there and watch a match with that section of fans they have wearing black t-shirts, jumping up and down and banging that drum all game. I think that’s pretty much the antithesis of what i associate with supporting City.

The year chelsea or Leicester won the league we lost 3-1 at home to chelsea. Aguero went through and was bodychecked by David Luis, the ref (Taylor) looked like he reached into his pocket to pull out a card, presumably red, he put his finger to his ear and waved play on. The whole match Luis was kicking Aguero and nothing was getting given. Aguero eventually nearly took Luis knee off and was sent off, fernandhnio was also sent off for reacting to fabrigas shit house tactics (pretending to be pushed into the stand). I remember being absolutely fuming and I think from that game on of any doubt that football could be bent confirmed it (head my head).

2021 Champions League final
The pre-match build up leading to final really pi$$ed me off.

There were birthday parties held for players (not really a problem with that) players and staff crowing on about the 6 star facilities (holiday camp), steam yoga sessions (holiday camp 2), even the backroom staff held a mahoosive barbeque the night before the game (Do it after the final).

Meanwhile, Tommy Toucans was seen giving comical impressions of Pep from a balcony and plotting our downfall with his staff on a chess board etc.

Bloody good selection that.

2021 Champions League final

Not only would it have been our first CL win, with Agüero getting a winners’ medal… but it would have also been a treble as we’d won the PL and EFL Cup.

We finished 19 points ahead of Chelsea in the league and I didn’t even rate their team at all. They were a fairly average football team.

The team selection, pretty much every player completely bottled it, we created next to nothing in 90 minutes, Agüero didn’t get proper minutes when we needed a goal… I fell out with City for a while after that, only actually felt better about it when we came back against Villa on the final day of the following season.
Agree but it was so much better winning the first one in Istanbul. And I was in Porto as well

This game for me too. We will never get the opportunity to win the league against the Scum again. We were absolutely cruising in the 1st half.
When you have your foot on the enemy's throat, you push down harder. We got complacent and paid the price.
Obviously, we still won the league but this still gets my goat.
When they won the league in 2013 we beat them at the swamp a couple of weeks before the end of the season, made no difference, neither did that.
Cup final 2024 biggest disappointment 2023 cup final every wish since childhood fulfilled. Rags utterly humiliated, never forget them going up for there medals while we sang " your fucking shite". Was spared witnessing the reverse 12 months later as flat on my back in a hospital in Majorca.

Can any older blues pinpoint why our descent started from the side that finished 2nd in 76/77 and 4th in 77/78, to 15th the following year and never really recovered until we hit rock bottom in 97/98. I've heard people say it was the return of Malcom Allison combined with Swales and obviously poor signings but there must be more to it. Was it comparable to united nowadays?
Steve Daley ???

Though if you'd told me when I was a lad in the 90s that these would all be the *bad* memories I'd want a pint of what you were drinking.

West Ham 1/4's or semis was one, I can't remember but it was first shot at being in a final for years. Gutted. A few disappointments and frustrations but so many highs too. Most fans only have disappointments so we can't complain.

The 1981 FA Cup final. Tommy Hutchinson own goal.

More recently the 2021 CL final, and the Spuds travesty CL 2019, but that was a VAR decision against us, as is generally the way...

And most weeks something annoys me - usually reffing decisions against us, or the 500k sideways passes we make!!
All of the above - but also RM vs City in the Chimps League SF (2015-16) - we'd drawn 0-0 at the Etihad and away goals still counted double - and Pellegrini only went for it in the last few minutes after Bale had put RM ahead - he should have gone all out to score, even if it meant RM had more opportunity to score - we'd have played AM in the final - I know this is a lot of 'ifs' - but with 2019 and 2021 we could have been on three or four Chimps League trophies by now - ahead of the Rags and bathing up with the Dippers!
