Allsvenskan 25/26

Wow!

That’s an incredible list of accomplishments.
Well the points record is now broken. Mjällby had a poor first half which was understandable with all the celebrations. Their leader throughout the season Tom Pettersson had enough of the excuses. In his own words ” At half time I ate a söice of apple, took a piss and entered the game. My lungs felt lime table tennis balls but that was not going to stop me.”

Needless to say the cemterback scored again and set the tone for team to com from a goal behind to win 2-1.

At the bottom of the table Degerfors took a vital 3 points against Öster in the table. That meant they are no on in the driving seat to stay in the league for next season.

Yesterday it was confirmed who would get the automatic promotion spots from Superettan (Swedish Championship).

The leaders Kalmar travelled to Gothenburg to play promotion hopefuls Örgryte. It was cracking match with woodwork being rattled multiple times and two cracking goals from Georgian lb Mamatashvili.

The other team to get promoted were Västerås. They scored an injury time winner away to Falkenberg.

Those were the two teams that were relegated last season.

Örgryte will be the team in the play offs facing either Norrköping, Degerfors or Öster from Allsvenskan.

I just keep saying wow about this Mjällby team. Even when fielding a weakend team they absolutely smashed bottom of the table Värnamo 0-5 away

Hammarby faced off against relegation threatened Degerfors. The boys in red got a vital point thanks to late equaliser.

An update on the records that were still achievable

Points Record 67
Mjällby has 72

Most wins in a season 22
Mjällby has 22

Matches without a loss 22
Mjällby has 21

Away wins 10
Mjällby has 12

Biggest point differential winner 15 pts
Mjällby has 13 pts down to Hammarby

That is a wrap the season has ended. Mjällby ended their fairytale season with another win and clean sheet. @Vienna_70 check the goal Alexander Johansson channeled his inner Ronaldinho

The only thing left of note to play for in the league was who would get relegated and who would end off in play off spot. The teams battling it out were Öster, Degerfors and Norrköping.

Degerfors came up trumps and has really shown togetherness and fight at the end of the season. They beat Brommapojkarna comfortably to stay in the league.

Norrköping did the opposite as they have been terrible of late with 6 straight losses. They lost to Göteborg and now face nervous play off against Örgryte. It does not look promising considering their form.

Öster started brightly today but fell to 3-1 loss away to Djurgården. This means their tenure in top league was only one season.
