Listened to the Let Me Talk podcast today and Mooney was saying he could see from the East Stand he was grinning at the crowd in this cocky way before receiving the ball on the break - only to lose the ball almost instantly.

He’s so arrogant. And shit.

He got a through ball againasta defender who has played 80 minutes, you are fresh and the first thing you do is slow the play down and then 10 seconds later you loose the ball. What was he even thinking?? Just go full speed and obliterate that defender.

That was right in front of me. He looked up to where his Missus sits and smiled at her as he dribbled past a defender went a few more yards and got tackled.

Never seen anything like it, it was very odd.

He also made 2 big chances in 20 mins:

The pull back that Reijnders hit at their keeper,
The pass to Marmoush at the near post.

A number of you have made your minds up that you don't like him.
 
What the fuck where we thinking by giving him a new contract as that decision will go down as a massive clanger . Hopefully his ego makes him want to leave .

Never heard of anything like that in 30 odd years watching football. Ridiculous!
 
There's a player in there somewhere, I'm sure of it. Maybe he doesn't succeed at City, but the talent is clearly there. I know this won't happen, but I'd love to see him have a run of like 10 games at RW with Nunes at RB.

Or we could refer to his shambolic performance and attitude against Arsenal , sauntering around the pitch , making no attempt to close down the ball. Haaland and Doku had run themselves to a standstill , he comes on when we’re one up and does absolutely nothing.
Maybe he might turn out to be decent but I doubt it .

For all we know he could have been given instructions of ‘sit tight out of possession, don’t rush out of position and leave gaps in behind you’.

His general performance other than that in that game was fine. He made a good run up the wing where Reijnders should have passed to him and the game would probably have been over, but Reijnders didn’t pass it to him. So it wasn’t quite absolutely nothing.
 
Rewarded for his "great performances" taking more first team minutes... Maybe next month another "deserved" contract extension...
