Borussia Dortmund (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Yep, his progress in his first (half) season left him at a crossroads as his second season began but he seems to have turned down Rodri Road rather than on to Kalvin Phillips Parkway if you’ll pardon the appalling metaphor
But, it is a really good description. Nico has really impressed and has a toughness that brings steel to our midfield. The idea of a Rodri-Nico pairing in the middle is mouth-watering.

Imagine going to a match and not watching it but standing with a fucking megaphone saying all follow me, what a twat. Good performance glad to see Pep been more pragmatic and bring on Dias to shore up the back after that dodgy 15mins. The dippers game will be interesting.

Yep. Manufactured atmosphere.
This is so true!

Don't get me wrong we need a rocket at home sometimes atmosphere-wise, but the drone that comes from a lot of foreign away support is soulless, its like white noise.

As somebody else said it doesn't correlate with the game so it kind of feels detached.

First 10 minutes we were off the pace, the next 60 minutes we played as well as we have for a couple of years & were superb. Then we took our foot off the gas and had a 10 minute poor spell again.
People getting very excited about Savinho should realise, that is what we expect and need from him 3 games out of every 4, not once every 3 months. Consistency is key. Do that most games and nobody will be complaining.
Doku should have been hooked earlier, his non-stop giving the ball away after our 3rd goal cost us a goal and nearly another. Despite that, he was superb for 60 minutes before that.
Majestic from Phil Football.
Our GK was excellent too, that misplaced pass across the penalty box would have seen Ederson concede a penalty. Impressed by the way Donarumma does not dive into tackles/challenges in such situations but instead, holds back and assesses the situation first.

Six teams from the PL in the top 12 of the Chumps.

I know which of these two competitions is the better one, and is certainly not the one run by those corrupt tossers at UEFA.
You do know the PL is lead by the FA? Like the FA is a trustful organisation. 115? Or do we need to sum up what people see as an agenda vs us breaking up the comfy top 4 or red cartel. They are as bad as UEFA.

Anyway, different discussion. My sole interest goes to the team in 4th position and I can’t give a flying feck about the position of other PL-teams.

Great win last night. Up the dippers next.

The whole thing makes me cringe to be honest. Them goons stood at the front directing the singing, the twat thumping a drum.
Its all very ‘try hard’ isnt it

Why bother going to the match to have your back to it for ninety minutes? Doesn't make sense to me.
The clown with the drum seemed to be facing the corner flag. Why didn't he turn round and keep one eye on the pitch?

Think the FA is in overall charge of all football in England and has sole responsibility for the FA Cup, but has little or no influence over the Premier League. The PL management is as corrupt as UEFA I grant you that.

Good performance overall but took foot off gas probably thinking of next Sunday and due to the short break from last Sunday
Who the fuck let that idiot in with the drum and the megaphone I dont understand why they travel so far to not watch the game jumping up and down swaying from side to side waving scarfs singing repetitive moronic songs Germans are a weird nation
My mate commented that he'd wonder what the reaction would be if he'd rolled up at the turnstile with a huge drum and a megaphone - Ill level with you Im not entirely confident he'd have been allowed to bring them inside.....so why were the Dortmund fans permitted to do so?

Excellent after the first 10 mins when we were sleepwalking.
Foden Reijnders and both Nicos had v good games. Haaland obviously terrifying.
Donnarumma also v reliable and to those who said he was poor with his feet they were wrong. That double tackle in the second half was quite brilliant. Eddie would have probably got a red.
It’s quite exceptional how Savio can do brilliant things and then regularly fail to find a blue shirt with his final pass. He defies the laws of probability and Brownian motion. I think the day he gets that bit right he will become unstoppable.
Bring the scouse bastards on.

The FA has nothing to do with the 115 charges, that's purely the PL.

Thats the type of thing David Conn and his ilk lap up, and what they take as a sign of a great "atmosphere" when in reality its falsfied, performative bollocks. Same at Bayern and most German grounds tbh - 4/5 blokes waving big flags throughout and even when a goal goes in against the home team at the very end they are at, the flags keep waving regardless of whats happening on the field.

Its got zilch to do with atmosphere and everything to do with manufactured shite; "atmosphere" and vibes for the niche brigade who think it makes for a spectacle - akin to The Truman Show in a football stadium.

A big win, a largely excellent performance but still that period where we were under pressure and couldn't do anything to wrestle control back. I look at this team with the hope to see us back at the very top, winning the league or CL so whilst I'm being overly critical, it is alarming we have had periods like that in so many games.

For me it comes from us trying to score more goals and giving the ball away. Someone needs to step up and calm things down and just look to keep the ball. At 3-1 we didn't need to do anything but keep possession and see the game out. The team needs to learn that quite quickly.
