End of minute silences for non football events

At last!
The FA / PL have decided not to continue holding a minute silence for global events unrelated to football - apart from Remembrance Day.
Clubs, however, can decide to hold a tribute to events happening in / around their own locality.
Should a leading monarch pass away, the government will decide what sporting clubs should do.
This is long over due.

It had reached the point where you couldn't find a game that didn't have some tribute, message or minute. Another thing we can bin as well is the 'fair play handshake - hypocrites' charter.

It was a noble gesture in the beginning. But, for me, it's lost its impact due to the length of time it's been going on. I get the feeling that a lot of people are like "ho hum" about the gesture now. And see it for being precisely that; a gesture, something that has had limited impact. What has it actually achieved, bar the raising of public awareness of the campaign. Has the daily life of the average black/non white person significantly improved due to footballers taking the knee? I feel like we need something new now, to breathe new life into the BLM campaign.

It started out as support for black lives matter until eventually the scam was found out and many of the leaders were found guilty of fraud and subsequently jailed or shot in their own back gardens.

Depends what for. If it’s a club legend who did at 90, yes an applause is suitable.

But nobody is going to applaud something like Salmen Abedi blowing up 22 people at the Arena. That’s a completely unsuitable thing to do.
