To me, it was the manner of their defeat that was most telling. They didn't play like a team (they haven't actually played like a team, a cohesive unit, this season). Naturally that is the new signings not quite gelling with their teammates. But that is something they should have accounted for when flashing the cash. That in itself seemed a bit 'raggish' in that it was just 'he's-a-good-player-buy-him,' no thought as to how to construct the team and get them playing together as a unit, just 'get-some-new-signings.'
The dippers yesterday were a team in total disarray. It seemed like nobody had any thought about what they were supposed to be doing and why, whatever Slot had told them in the changing room they had apparently forgotten by the time they kicked off.
I think it was Danny Murphy who made a good point about Bradley being asked to do too much, as if he had to be in two place at the same time. He was run ragged all afternoon.
Under Bingo they had a team that worked with one another: they had a gameplan (such as it was, basic but effectual). Yesterday was a big game in anyone's eyes, regardless of league position you wanted to win, you wanted the bragging rights - somebody must have forgotten to tell the dippers that because none of it was evident judging by their performance yesterday.
