9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

17 in 20 pens isn’t bad at all. There’s no way I’m taking him off penalties, get your head down practicing them a bit more but keep on em

Just for comparison, Messi has something like 77% conversion rate, not exactly spectacular. Ronaldo has missed a fair few etc. It happens.

That said, I'd like him go for the Alan Shearer approach and just absolutely leather it, leaving the keeper with little chance even if they guess right. He's more than capable.

Much prefer this current version of Haaland, and you can tell he's in the form of his life.

As amazing as he's been since he came to City - I have no doubt he's a legend - he did have this habit of scoring three goals in one match, two goals in the next match, then nothing for four games, then three goals in one match, then nothing for five games etc. He'd score eight goals in 12 matches but he'd draw a blank in nine of them, or something.

Across the end of the 22/23 and the beginning of the 23/24 season, he went through a run of one goal in nine games. During the Christmas and spring period in 2024, there was a run of 15 games when he scored 10 goals but drew a blank 10 times. He was remarkably streaky for someone with his numbers.

Now, this season, he's getting one goal here, two goals there, one goal again after that, then one goal again, then two goals, etc. He's not scored a hat-trick in 2025 but he's far more dangerous because teams are finding it harder and harder to completely shut him out. Only Villa and Spurs have managed it.

That makes him more dangerous. Last season (and before that) if he was having a good day, he'd rack up loads of goals. But if he was having a bad day, god he would stink the gaff out and the CBs would cut off all supply lines without breaking much sweat. Other teams have lost that luxury, it seems.

19 City goals in mid November. 55+ goals is a genuine possibility this season, injuries permitting.

Absolutely.
His games has evolved this season.
But we also play to him more.
Unfortunately something just flashed up on my phone on a news thing that pep is unhappy the big man wants to leave for Madrid..two things to take from that.
Block things flashing up from x.
What ever that is.
And second if he wants to go let him.
I for one don't think for a second he does.
I hope not he's simply incredible.
Remember when Madrid had Zidane.
Barca had ronaldinho.
Messi..the real Ronaldo.
They were the absolute top.
We have this lad now .
Enjoy blues

Just heard on a podcast that he's scored as many headers so far this season, as he has in each of the last two completed seasons. Always thought his record re scoring headers wasn't great, considering how bloody big he is.

Great to see him keeping up his ridiculous form. More importantly though, just how fucking big is his team mate?!
