Russian invasion of Ukraine

Senator Rounds, confirming that after speaking to Sentator Rubio, the 28 point peace plan was originally a Russian document/recommendation.

And Trump spent two days touting it as an American plan that Ukraine had until Thursday to accept.

Its similar to the peace terms negotiated by the allies with the germans at the end of WW1. Ukraine is being treated as the loser in the conflict.

Rubio has absolutely trashed his reputation working for Trump. This 'plan' is unravelling fast and looks like a Trump F-up.

Sure we would all love the fighting to stop, but you can't negotiate with a despot. Putin just won't stop without being put under severe pressire, so, as always, the question is:

How do you stop fighting without surrendering?

You and you ilk never answer this point. Ever.
Hence I was right. My ilk wtf

So, Trump decided to publish a Russian plan for peace.

Absolutely mind boggling.
My thinking here is that Trump has had a bruising week where his own side have been disobedient with regards Epstein file votes.

Trump works on a base level of fear and retribution to get stuff done. When he doesn't get what he wants he goes for punishment and retribution. Senators and Congress GOPers have been in his ear on Ukraine for the last 12 months telling him not to side with Russia. These same people then vote to release the files...

What does he do. Gets some young staffer to run the Putin plan through chat gbp and then issue a hardline ultimatum out of know where.

I suspect the Mamdami meeting had a similar underlying motivation. I.e. he just trying to damage people who he feels have wronged him.

Is it possible he was actually trusting the new people he installed who had zero experience after sacking others.

With his own bombastic attitude together with inexperienced yes men he had nobody to play devil's advocate during his time to look it over so he presented it as a finished article.

A normal administration would have the appropriate people, backed by an office full of staff, outside experts and lawyers on hand to make such moves.

Trump makes most of his plays on the fly with whoever is in the room. Rubio should front this but I'm guessing he has had little to do with it and will try to keep a distance. Whoever did the donkey work will probably keep their head down. Trump will have to own it but he routinely gets away with this kind of incompetence. He has had limitless political capital to absorb bad moves.

But maybe, just maybe, he's starting to run out. The gop already seems to have drawn a line with the Epstein files.

I see the same pro Russia shills/rats are back. One bit of bad news and out of the woodwork they come.
Thankfully they are on "Ignore". However, i do have to see the posts of people replying.

I will put it in very simple words for them.

The Ukraine didn't start this. They were invaded. They have done unbelievably up to this point.
They are not getting bored with this. They are fighting for their very existence/survival.

It doesn't matter that they cannot win this. As it's not a game that they can just call quits, go home and lick their wounds. To do so ends an entire nation.

This supposed "peace deal" is nothing of the sort. It is a surrender on Putin's terms.
This is a disgusting betrayal from the United States President. Every single American should be embarrassed and disgusted by Trump's actions.
There is more to this sudden demand. Questions need to be asked why now and why so sudden?
Who is in more trouble, Putin/Trump? Somebody is panicking.
The main reason it cannot be accepted is that Russia NEVER sticks to any agreement.
For the hard of reading RUSSIA NEVER STICKS TO ANY AGREEMENT.

As from day one, it has to be the Ukraine choice on whether to continue fighting, nobody else's.
If Trump pulls support, then so be it. Others will have to step up. I'm reading that the allies have been been preparing for this. But as ever, there will never be enough time to prepare. Losing US support will be devastating, but not ultimately fatal.
It will mean more support from others. Each supporting nation will have to do more. Or we should be just as embarrassed.

One thing is for certain. If Trump pulls US support, the global implications will be massive.
It will change world orders overnight. NATO will be gone. The once great US nation will never be looked on the same again.
Trump/US needs to be reminded of this.

This is wrong. NATO will be different for sure but it won't be gone, there are some very strong partners still. His own military won't let it happen anyway.

In any case trump will not completely pull out, he knows he needs the rest of the west as much as we need the US.
