4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

I am a big critic of Pep's tactics sometimes but one thing that I think he deserves a lot of credit for is giving some players loads of time to be crap and learn from it. He plays the long game rather than worrying too much about individual results. Eventually, hopefully, Reijanders will be excellent, like many before him, but only time will tell.

We have too many like this at once unfortunately but ti's wot ti's so fingers crossed that it syncs sooner rather than later. I'd still like Pep to introduce some compensating tactics in the meantime though to just grind out more wins.

I thought he would be a great signing ( only after reading his reviews on here) but he doesn’t affect games and seems to take the easy options……unlike Cherki.

Watched him going through the motions of appearing to sprint back to cover yesterday……physically he looks really imposing but he doesn’t use it to his advantage and if anything he appears to be a bit soft.

It could be a confidence thing however he is not good enough at the moment to be in the starting eleven.

Another typical performance from the smiling ghost yesterday. I know we don’t have a lot of alternatives but we would be better off playing anyone instead of the ghost.

Had much higher hopes for a Serie A midfielder of the year ,who should be at his prime atm. I don´t think every player needs a year to adapt ,that kind of player should impact the games much more straight away. He is not doing that atm , but hopefully he will sooner, rather than later.

Better from Reijinders against Leeds. Had a few good shots on goal and contributed much more on defense. The guy looks like he lacks confidence ATM.

Still a long way to go yet in his career at City, only been here 3 months.

Think we're comparing him to that Wolves games too often - still has plenty of time to become a really solid player for us

He’s looking like the midfield Mangala so far.

What I will say in his favour though is that he does get into goal scoring positions. With a little more luck and better finishing, he could easily have another 6 goals to his tally.

He does need to learn how to influence the game more though.

Whilst I broadly agree. At what point does ‘luck’ start being simply poor finishing? The list of missed opportunities is starting to get very long

I remember Fernandinho and Rodri hardly set the world alight in their first season and questions were being asked.

Obviously the performance against Wolves has confused people led to different expectations.

After the Wolves game he looked the real deal, but since then he has struggled to replicate that form. Still early days, but we need more from him.
Sums it up. People can only go off what we've seen up until now, which hasn't been much. The criticism is by and large valid.

Agreed. The Italian award and having 29 internationals under his belt would have had most believing that we were buying the finished article. After all he's 27, not 19.

I loved his front-foot approach against Wolves and it was a treat to see Erling being able to run onto a ball played back to him again, like we used to see - but that's been about it, so far.

Just seems like an average PL player, not really what City need in that key position.

yeah ,let´s see ,how he is playing later in the season ,but our recruitment lately has been average if not bad.

Are you kidding? Fernandinho was brilliant from the get go
Do you read posts properly? I never said he wasn't.

I highlighted how I remember on here he was being slated by Blues who had little patience with him.

Forget Savinho, Bobb and anyone else, this guy is our biggest problem at the moment.

He's got a lot of ability but he's been incredibly underwhelming in such an influential position.

If Mukasa was in there doing what he's doing we'd be wanting him out of the first team. Needs to do more.
