Leadership

Is he fuck, looks frightened to death himself half the time hardly inspirational. He's living under the somewhat xenophobic elusion that most football fans have regards players from the old eastern block being hard as nails just because of where they where born.
Khusanov has looked very powerful, quick and strong in the tackle but he looks like a central defender to me. I don't think we need to change our central defenders. We are using Dias, Gvardiol and Stones. At some point Khusanov is likely to come in but we can be relaxed about his development. I think City are thinking about Khusanov and Reis as defenders for the future but Khusanov might do specific jobs for us against players like Vinicius.

Dias used to be that guy, not any more sadly.
I have seen him a lot for City and Portugal and he is a warrior and a leader. Those who criticise him in this respect are really wrong.

This topic is like someone grasping hopelessly for answers when the answer is actually glaring R O D R I.

I yearn for the days of Kompany, Yaya, Zabaletta eyc whose leadership would've prevented these collapses in the second half. We can go on and on about the abilities of individual players but can anyone identify a player who is a leader in our team ?

Didnt we have many bad games and collapses when they played too?

The loss to Wigan in the cup final stands out.

(Although the blame went on Mancini).

Not what I see tbh. He is young, new in a massive massive club. I am not dismissing him in the leadership regard yet! He does look like he gets on with the work and has high expectations of himself. Captain or leader material as far as I seen before, but not at 21 after only 8 months or whatever at the club.

"Bernardo isn't a leader of this team." I've read it all on here now.
Well he isn't , not sure on how you can have an opposite view running around a lot and cry arseing to the ref, while doing fuck all organising of those around you isn't leadership. Where is his bollocking of Nunes who again fucked up for a goal , geeing up of Stones who clearly didn't start will but needed motivation to get through the game , getting a grip of Savinho who for the 3rd time just ran into Fulham players instead of keeping possession? all things you would expect from a captain and none of which he did.

Haha very weird comment. I'm basing it off his flying tackles that's he's hard as fuck. Nothing to do with where he's from

The answer isnt rodri. Thats a slim hope that we may get even half the player back that we once had.

Are you talking about a captain or a manager there? Bollocking Nunes, some obscure geeing up of Stones for some obscure intangible reason you have just thought of, getting a grip of Savinho.... You're expecting the captain to do that? How would he get a grip of Savinho? How does that work?

I never saw Rodri doing all that. Or Kevin or any of our players bollocking and shouting down a player for a mistake.

Kovacic, should he manage to stay fit, would be my choice as Captain. Hard as fuck, a top quality player, and someone that everyone will listen to.
He's absolutely bang average - you really want your captain to be undroppable. He is not. Here comes the "he was one of our best players last year" and to that I say that was the worst year we've had in 7 years.

I saw Bernardo wearing the captains armband on about 70 minutes and I couldn’t get my head around the fact we lack any kind of leadership. Bernie was a complete passenger and how he’s captain is beyond me. I saw Ruben bollocking a few after one of their goals but there really is a lack of leaders in tha team.
Dias and Bernie are both uninspiring captains, we’ve definitely no leaders on the pitch nowadays

Yep, rodri and KDB were just calming influences.

spot on!

Leave that to people like Roy Keane

Okay mate. You're welcome to your opinion, however wide of the mark it may be. His issue is fitness, not quality.
