Liverpool Thread | 2025/26 | Salah fall out (p264)

Mane was the better player until COVID fcked up his lungs. He always showed up against us and was one of the most dangerous wingers in the league. Mane was a freak of nature.
And a diving shitbag like Salah. Easy to play football if the opposition can't go near you as the slightest brush will result in a penalty or free kick.

We should put in a £10m bid, not particularly because we want him but just to set the buying point for the Saudi's (who may or may not pay silly money). If someone bids £11m we pull out.

Dipper on radio 5 this morning bemoaning the fact that the players have not been able to mourn properly after having to start the season so soon after a death of a player. According to him they all need proper bereavement counselling and Salah’s grief is causing his loss of form.

Thankfully another caller called the dippers out as delusionally self obsessed…
…so how do you explain them beating us and all those other teams?

Stop fucking exploiting Jota’s death, you absolute ghouls.

We played the totally left footed (can't think of his name, played CB for Oldham and CF sometimes) at right back that day.

It was embarrassing for Gerry Taggart. I remember him trying to clear upfield with his left foot and it went out for a throw in almost at 90 degs to his right. City were a shambles that day.

I was there and remember it well, I was absolutely devasted at the end of the game because I'd thought we'd blown our chance of promotion, but as news came from Hillsborough it didn't really seem to matter anymore.

Enjoying this new addition to the Liverpool shit show.

Funny really as he has been way out of form, unrecognisable this season really so Slot is more than justified in his decision to leave him on the bench.

Best of all though is the manner in how this has gone down. Embarrassing carry on from Salah acting like a spoiled child. There’s no way those comments should have been shared publicly like that it’s just really really poor from him.
I guess no statue for him. That makes 2 with Arnold. Didn't some scouser commentator once claim we have no legends?

Jota's death was of course tragic, but the complete absence of any wider lessons being learned is notable.

He was driving a supercar at high speed.

There are many other instances of young footballers crashing in these circumstances - I recall Ronaldo writing off his Ferrari racing in the tunnels under mcr airport. Antonio recently suffered life changing injuries.

Rather than think of this as a one off tragedy, better to think of it as an inevitable result of young men being indulged in high risk activities on public roads. What are their employers, LFC in this instance, doing to protect their employees and the wider public? They're not the victims of a random meteor strike.
I got over the death of my parents faster than these snowflakes.
