10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

Now they’re gonna start cooking up fake Cherki to VARdrid rumours — you can already see it coming. The moment a young talent shines in sky blue, the media suddenly acts like it’s their duty to link him to Spain. They can’t help themselves. Give it a week and they’ll have “sources” claiming Madrid have been “long-term admirers” and “preparing a bid.” It’s the same tired script every single time

True.Years ago, he did say he wanted to play for Real Madrid though.

I can’t really overstate how excited I am to see how he develops over the course of this season and beyond.

He has total confidence and belief in his own ability. He makes the simple stuff look effortless (immaculate control and shirt passing with both feet, never rushed or concerned about opposition players) and slows the game down when required - but can then just kick into gear and do outrageous things as per the clips above and makes that look easy too! Like a Kev or David Silva his higher risk passing in the final third is inventive and kind of unique.

When he gets fully used to the pace of the league and 100% fit he will take some stopping.

At the moment he reminds me of Doku in the last two years - Jezza used to look slow / knackered tracking back and that he struggled with stamina. Doku looks like someone who can go up and down the pitch all day this season. We get Cherki to that place and he will take some stopping.
