Marc Guehi | Leading target for City (p28)

I like Guehi, think he's excellent but not a chance Palace sell in their current position this winter. We don't need a CB either, we have plenty once we get Reis and Bah back in the summer. What we need is Rodri back or another DM to help alongside Nico that protects our defense better.

I think I'm getting sentimental in my old age, but I'd like to see Guehi stay at Palace and see out this season and get a proper send off.

Yeah it makes a complete mockery of the league really if halfway through possibly their best ever PL season Palace lose their best players. Be good to see what they can do with Guehi, Wharton, Mateta etc before the inevitable cull next summer.

Surely its worth more to keep him and finish as high as possible than they a recoup some money.

Liverpool bid 35m end of the window which they accepted. If they finish top 4 thats worth so much more.

Yeah you would hope so. I know he's out of contract but like you say, hopefully they try and look at the potential longer term and what they could achieve this season if they keep their best players.
 
I can't see Palace letting him walk for nothing in the summer.

I think they look to sell him for something next month. Or perhaps an extension with a 50-60m release clause that becomes active this summer.
 
Don't see it happening. He isn't better than Gvardiol for LCB which means he'll be in a rotational/backup role. That isn't in itself a major problem but for the fact he is playing every single week for Palace as captain, he's used to that and he's got the Dippers wanting him who will make him their first choice CB and build their defence around him.

Given he will also be available on a free, he'll basically have his pick of clubs. All top clubs will express an interest in taking him and it'll be down to them to offer him the best package, we wont be anywhere near the best option so i don't see why he would be interested in coming here.
 
idk. khus already can't get a game and reis seems to be progressing well, however stones and ake are likely leaving in the summer so we will need maybe someone, but guehi seems a bit too good to be a 3rd choice?
