City going after fans who gave their ticket to mates at Madrid

That really isn't the point. The OSC gets an allocation and that gets distributed according to the branch criteria. It's been the case for as long as I remember. No one thought it was a problem prior to 2012.
Well the branch criteria needs looking at and I say that as a member of an OSC!

Not sure what the issue is with people complaining that club are going after people. At the end of the day, many were probably selling their ticket on to make money, although I guess some may have been trying to help a mate out. I was offered tickets from 2 blues (mate of mate and a work colleague) who were asking for much more than face value. Regardless of whether people think the club are wrong for the third party seller debacle, it doesn't mean that blues trying to fleece other blues in OK.

I don't go to the European aways so I don't know what happens exactly, but it is clear from the news that Liverpool, Man Utd and City are struggling with very significant touting operation. The BBC reported massive ticket fraud involving LFC and there is no reason to think that there are not similar but smaller operations going on at City. I think this is likely to be the background to what is going on.

I'd be shocked if its not bad at Chelsea, Arsenal to.

What fuckin planet are the powers that be on to think its a good idea to go after long term fans.
Its so short sited its bizarre!!

Ive said it before , the club are getting this badly wrong.

Sorriano is a money grabbing **** who actively despises ‘legacy fans’

As blues, we have to understand, no body making these decisions at the club are city fans.
They are merely tasked with a job and could not give a flying fuck about ‘us’ as long as the current till roll looks good.

The club had an open goal to ensure local support was secured for years to come but somehow hit row z.

What a shame
Am I missing the point here. Why should fans who qualify but aren’t going get to chose who gets the tickets ( presumably fans that don’t qualify), when there may be other fans that would have been able to buy them miss out. Surely legacy fans whatever that means would qualify through the club why would they need passed on tickets?

You're not missing the point and this is why the club do what they do with almost no reproach.

We had some success with ticket prices last year when MOST attenders were close to being on the same page but, from that just look at what City have done since with the 10 game rule, banning's left right and centre etc......did we really actually win or was it the club threw one battle which could have grown to just continue to chip away at us in other ways.

Our supporters are like The Peoples Front Of Judea etc. groups everywhere all roughly wanting the same thing but all with caveats to suit their needs, ultimately whatever people say 75%+ (my estimate) are only looking after themselves or at the very most fans in their position.

I understand why some don't like the OSC getting an allocation but they have had one for many years, including when there wasn't a scramble for tickets like there is now. As long as the person who was allocated the ticket used it, then that's OK.

Am I missing something here ? We have threads complaining about "tourists" in our away ends abusing the club roundly but another abusing the club for trying to get to the bottom of how a ticket got into the hands of someone whose name wasn't on the ticket.
People want it both ways. They say they have the points and therefore can do what they want with their ticket, including pass it on, but when someone else does that they complain. You have to be consistent.

Aren't you doing the exact opposite by suggesting its okay for one (supporters clubs getting tickets to distribute how they see fit) but not okay for the other (points holders essentially doing the same.)

I got an email week of the game confirming I had to collect. For Newcastle the tickets were digital but in the email it states I had to collect at the away ticket office. I asked what happened If I couldn't collect but they never gave me an answer.

Funny enough when I went to collect off Mike he had a QR code ready for me to scan to download the ticket once I confirmed who I was. The ticket wouldn't download for me but worked for my mate who Mike let download the ticket onto his phone
Well it just proves they are still doing it
Tbh it is the correct thing to do but I don’t agree with some of the calls threats etc

But, it what it is so be careful as helping a mate can bite u on the arse and get you on our ticket compliance officers naughty list

Hang on, they are expecting you to take your passport to the ground to be checked before entry to the game.

When i travel anywhere it gets locked in a safety deposit box, certainly wouldn’t be taking it anywhere near a day on the piss and a late kick off even for non drinkers still a big risk with pickpockets.

Would definitely say that’s one for City Matters/FSF

It's because it wasn't a popular trip. We've played Madrid so many times recently that the demand wasn't there this time. I'm all in favour of clamping down on high pointers passing on tickets to people who don't have enough points to wait their turn to apply.
Yeah I agree but surely the low pointers would have qualified anyway
Or maybe we're just making the same point, but from different angles.

The only replaceable part of the club supporter equation is the supporter, we are not only replaceable, the club would actively encourage this scenario.

Legacy fan = (relatively) stagnant ticket prices and low matchday revenue potential
Nouveau fan = higher ticket price and considerably higher matchday revenue potential

The only role that legacy fans have that is of benefit to the club is the atmosphere, we are little more than extras in a TV production. Think of this the next time Pep, or one of the boys comes over to the touchline waving their arms exhorting an increase in volume from the fans.

As the old saying goes 'if you'll sup with the devil, use a long spoon'.
I’m not sure I agree. Are we replaceable currently?

We struggle to sell out for quite a few games and we struggle with hospitality as well. If the legacy fans don’t show up, we don’t have legions of tourists to take our place at the moment.

People might say that’s not true, look at the Madrid game. I’d argue one off games like that were full of away fans

Could be multiple reasons i guess.
Maybe some one was ill and couldnt travel, for example.
Is it not the same as the club making life difficult when transferring tickets for home games?

Just the club being pricks with the fans

I’d argue the club are the biggest touts going. Look at some of the ticketing websites that sell tickets for ridiculous prices or I’ll see rows of empty seats in north stand level 1 - it’s because of the club
