I said it a few days ago in this thread that he is potentially our greatest ever; his range of skill is truly unique. What KDB, Bell, and David Silva, arguably our greatest players, had, was the relentless drive to develop and do it again and again. That takes mental stamina and a will to be the best. If he brings that to the table in the way they did, I think the world will know him as the greatest player there is.Is it too soon to say he's the most gifted player we've ever had?
Basically this. There's a shit tonne more juice to squeeze from this orange. The harsher Pep is with public criticism the higher he rates the player.
He knows what he's got, he's just keeping his cards close to his chest.
Time to get carried away.
This lad is still only 22 and reminds me a bit of a raw KDB/Tevez type.
He’s only going to get better and hopefully will deliver consistency.
One of the first names on the team sheet at the moment.

Must admit I rated Tevez very highly and rate Cherki very highly but aside from rating them both highly I don't really get the similarities.I think Tevez is the best comparison yet. Hasn’t got the work rate and perhaps won’t score as much.
They have very little in common. Tevez is a hard working terrier, Rayan is not. Tevez has a weak ball control, Rayan is nearer the top. Rayan has immaculate vision and touch, Tevez doesn't. Rayan is unusually 2 footed. Tevez is decidedly right footedMust admit I rated Tevez very highly and rate Cherki very highly but aside from rating them both highly I don't really get the similarities.
More like a hybrid of Ali B and Kinkladze.Must admit I rated Tevez very highly and rate Cherki very highly but aside from rating them both highly I don't really get the similarities.
I agree.Thought it was quite noticeable in the first 15/20 how he was telling other players what to do and where to press. Encouraging to see for a young lad new to the club and country and who looked a bit quiet (and looks like he has a bit of a sulky face!)
As for the talent - you felt as soon as he wound up to strike it for his goal he'd bag. Such an intelligent player and I keep saying it - an absolute killer

Mahrez was a great player for us with a sublime first touch. There's a bit of FFS in there as well.
